Tried NFBC satellite league 2 years ago after much long term sucess in private leagues that were becoming boring. The day of the draft my then 1 and 4 year olds had the flu, ended up dead money and went back to private leagues with my tail between my legs. Now going to give it a shot again and I would like to know in a NFBC league what would be at or near the top in each of the catagories, what would be needed to usually win each cat, what are my goals? Just FYI, the high/low range of stats for the five years of the NFBC Main Event at the 80% mark of available points are:

BA - 0.2786 to 0.2845

R - 1084 to 1154

HR - 266 to 293

RBI - 1053 to 1119

SB - 139 to 172

ERA - 3.677 to 4.079

W - 95 to 103

WHIP - 1.255 to 1.312

K - 1180 to 1242

SV - 86 to 95

Yes. I actually do track such things. What would Uncle Charlie (or better yet, Bud) say?

Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.

Just remember, in the Main, there are fewer fringe strategies (i.e. all closer, all middle relievers, all power, et al), more balanced approaches, and the ranges reflect that. Some of the satellites have been proving (or disproving) ground for unique concepts and the resulting outcomes may be different. Jeez...I sound like a lawyer...

Good luck and here's hoping you don't hang any of your best pitches!
