If you had to pick one for the start of your main event, which would you choose and why?

Pujols- As close to a guarantee that there is. His batting average allows A LOT of leeway on players later in the draft.
Wright- Gives you more steals, but less homers, and plays at a more scarce position. Will the new ball park affect his numbers??
REALLY tough call as you could make a case for either one.
For the record, I am picking 4th and will take "whoever is remaining of the big 4".
Those of you who have a 2 or 3 pick, I don't envy that decision one bit.
To answer the question, it truly is a "dead heat". I however prefer Pujols because Wright has a few variables (new ballpark, will he get shuffled in the order, etc.) that Pujols simply doesn't have.
And I LOVE that .330+ batting average to start the draft!

Do not think city matters Billy 4 was my preference but 11th I really am happy with. I would take Wright hands down. 5 category guy better line up park is supposed to be more of a hitters park. Drop off from him is so large. Love Pujouls as well average etc Unless you think Shumaker will set table like Reyes think runs rbis will favor Wright and Hrs will be close. Wright gives you more flexibility with your drafting strategy Just an opinion

do u think what city you are drafting in could come into play... [/QUOTE]It very well could. Since I am in NY, it wouldn't shock me one bit to see Wright and Reyes go before me, and I get Pujols.
That being said, I would bet that there aren't 3 teams drafting 1-3 in ALL the NY leagues that are ALL die hard Mets fans.
And even if they were, I can't see ANY league (in any city) where Hanley Ramirez is passed on by teams 1 and 2 just because there are "Mets fans" sitting at #1 and #2 who take Wright and Reyes just because they are Mets fans.
Furthermore, while I know some people would take a guy just because they are on their favorite team, I don't think many would base their decision on that in the first few picks of the draft.
Never draft with your heart, ALWAYS draft with your head!

Marty I can't argue with most of that Marty, as Wright is a GREAT player (hence why he is going 2-4 in almost every draft).
The only thing is the new park. Think until we get a few years of data, it will be tough to determine whether it truly is a "hitter's park".

Even being a Met fan myself, I take Pujols first. The only benefit from Wright would be steals and a few more runs at a more scarce position, but Pujols' BA and elite power have him graded a tad higher for me.

That BA is what tips him slightly him there for me also.
35+ HR and a .330+ batting average ....
He is in a club all by himself!

I would go Pujols, as previous posts stated the power and typically around .330 avg. Luckily I don't have to worry about it, PICK 15.

Im leaning Wright. I pick 2nd, and think that the absence of ARod makes 3B super scarce. I have Wright, Longoria, ARamirez, and then a huge drop. Makes it a hard position to fill - especially with a 5-tool, 'play everyday' guy like Wright.
Then again, I may flip-flop by the weekend.
