So the other day I read the original SI story of Sidd Finch. I have heard the legend of Sidd Finch and his 168 MPH fastball before but never read the real story. Now it was clear that it was a spoof but it was written well enough to throw off a lot of people. So I couldn't help but not to stop and think what if I was doing a fantasy draft back in 1985 and had just read that article the night before. Now I know not many were playing Fantasy baseball at the time but think about it. Back then you didn't have the internet to look him up and would be going off of what ever sources you had. I was left thinking how funny it would be to find out that it was not true and if someone in your league drafting him how you could raz him for years and years.



Any of our Fantasy Vets play back then? And did Finch get talked about?



It's too bad a story like this would be dead in an hour these days but you have to give it to George Plimpton for being off the wall but still make it so people want to believe it's true.

You should read the full book. I read it when I was a kid. I think the Lances of the world might bite but most would ignore the $$HOT ALERT SIDD FINCH$$ posts from GG.
