Pujols Triple Crown Watch...

Post by fandango » Mon Apr 27, 2009 7:07 am

No doubt, i think we are watching a great of the game, top 5 perhaps all-time.....

will unfortunately be overshadowed by the steroid era, but this guy is clean....if a guy of pujols ability were on steroids, he would have hit 70 HR already....

Pujols has never hit 50, but never been under 30..a great mark of consistency.....

Leads league in HR and RBI (7/25) and is batting .343....

if the great achievement is at all attainable, Pujols will come the closest this year i think....

BTW...anyone on the fence about Pujols should read the SI article....

Easiest guy to cheer and root for, a Model for all professional athletes...

I like Pujols, but you cannot make the assumption that "he is clean" by the number of homeruns he has hit. Until there is a test for HGH, we will never know who has remained clean and who is a fraud.

[/QUOTE]You took the words right out of my mouth. Wasn't Pujols pretty close with Bonds?

you guys make me laugh....

he was close to bonds? that is the best you can up with?

again, if pujols were taking performance enhancers dont you think he would have hit more than 50 HR's? brady anderson hit 50 hrs for chrisssake.....

steroids are marked my sudden improvements in stats (and in body size)

Pujols has lost weight over the years and apparently does not have the CUT Muscles of a PED user...

As far as I'm concerned, there are those who have used PED's and those who might have. I see no reason to have blind faith in some almighty athlete I've never met. I might add that it doesn't really concern me beyond it's implications to the fantasy player and projecting production for an upcoming season. I'll leave it to others to impugn or condemn athletes. As far as Pujols is concerned, I heard the same argument for AROD who was merely number 50 in a long line of 'untouchables' in terms of PED stigma.

Sudden improvements in stats? Sometimes...but maybe we should ask Alex Sanchez if that's always the case.

I haven't seen the list, but at this point there are probably hundreds of banned substances on the list and to categorize all of them as having the exact same predictable effect is inaccurate and an oversimplification. Even one substance can have different effects with varying degrees of efficacy when used by different people/players.
