Hitter avoidance tracking stat?

Post by sportsbettingman » Tue Apr 13, 2010 7:34 am

Is there a stat that tracks how often a hitter/batter is not given at least 3 "strikes" to swing at?

~not counting strikeouts (even if he swung at all balls).

~not counting at bats resulting in a hit.

~not counting at bats resulting in an out off the bat. (foul or in play)

Just counting intentional base on balls, and base on balls with less than three thrown "strikes" involved (even if they were fouled off.)

If there already is statisctic that tracks this, what do they call it?

I'd love to know who led the last few years in this stat, and would enjoy tracking which hitters are having their chances at production taken away by this. (be it a good eye, or baseball strategy to avoid said player)
