And the beat goes on....
Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.

Sure am glad I have Herges to cover for me since Dotel is one of my closers!

Someone outbid me for Herges, if not I would be in the same boat as you. Finally get a 2nd healthy closer last week and now Dotel goes on the DL, I guess I need to thank someone for releasing Street a few weeks ago

Hey Ed Funny comment about Herges as back up to closer woes. I did same thing with Herges spent way too much now I almost have to hold him at least for a few more weeks based on over paying Right now we can only hope that walker falls on face since Herges has not pitched all that bad hes like the NL version of MacDougal I get a kick out of the fact that majority of free ageny money is spent on the NEW closer for a team got to keep reminding ourselves its just 1 category I so far have gotten lucky with closers Did not draft 1st 1 Cordero Wash till 11th and Wickman till 14th hoping they stay healthy and I like everyone else will keep looking for that#3 saves guy. Every week ther seems to be a new HOT list for them and each week average bids range fron 150-300 for them 300 almost 1/3 of budget I learned from last year not too waste early picks on them but did not learn my lesson about spending too much for the NEW FLAVOR OF THE WEEK

I hear you MGBMARTY. The last couple of weeks Herges hasn't been bad, but has not been striking anyone out either. Not sure if they will give him the ball if he can't reach back for a little extra and get that much needed K.
I am holding on (like you more out of embarassment than anything else) and I have no faith that the closer situation in SF is settled yet. It just COULD happen! I just hope Dotel isn't out too long.

Well my 3 closers at the start of the season were Dotel, Mota, and Lyon. Unbelievable!
I do have Dempster, but I fear he only has another week of such duties.
