i had oswalt #6, but how can you repalce one the 5 studs i listed for oswalt. his whip could be better, and his k's could be better. also, he's due to bounce to a 13 or 14 win season. losing clemens will hurt oswalt IMO

I like this guy, too:

Roy Halladay, Tor SP

I heard he's pretty good. If he can stay healthy, he's money in the bank. Could be a real sleeper this year.

Does anybody else think those 260+ innining Oswalt and Carpenter pitched due to playoffs might carryover into this year. Fatigue/injuries/drop off in production??

Then, there's the most appealing youngster of all: Right-hander Felix Hernandez, who was every bit as good as advertised following his promotion on Aug. 4. The No. 2 prospect as ranked by Baseball America heading into the 2005 season, King Felix made 12 starts for Seattle, registering a 2.67 ERA, 0.996 WHIP and nine quality starts and averaging better than seven innings per outing. Even before his promotion, his projected impact was compared to that of Dwight Gooden's in 1984, and Hernandez didn't disappoint. Some might doubt that a pitcher with such little experience could enjoy that much success so quickly, but beyond the inevitable worries about workload at such a young age, Hernandez is truly a once-in-a-generation prospect. Manager Mike Hargrove already is designing plans to preserve the kid's arm, which only can help decrease any risk involved.

The preceding analysis was written by ESPN's Tristan Cockroft, it seems everyone is jumping on this bandwagon.

Two words...Ben Sheets!
Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.

A PICK this high, he wont be on my team. You need to show me more than 100 innings .IF he's worth the hype , ild be ready next year. He's a guy who would be great in keeper leagues , especially if you believe in him.

Felix will be great next year this year he is slated as #5 in pitching rotation I project him at 165 IP 13 wins 1.10 whip 172 K's not too bad Feel the top 5 are Johan Peavy Pedro Halladay Oswalt Would rather have Zamrano in the 5th then Felix in the 2nd or 3rd

Another great SP not listed here is Rich Harden -- he could be easily be taken ahead of any starting pitcher besides Johan Santana.

And Felix Hernandez, of course :D
Depends what draft pick I have. If he's there at the end of the second round, he could be a great value.

Word out of Phoenix is that the A's aren't 100 percent certain Rich Harden will be ready for the start of the season. He finally threw from the mound for the first time as he recovers from a shoulder injury, but he won't even throw in even a simulated game until late in the first week of March at this point.

sorry koq

Johan Santana

Felix Hernandez

Pedro Martinez

Jake Peavy

Chris Carpenter

Roy Oswalt

Is the Big Unit anywhere in the top 10???? I still see him drafted before Felix in many drafts.
OK - So I'm not as good as I thought I was; but at least I am consistent.
