Kentucky Derby (KD) method

Although I believe Blind Bidding on Draft Slots (BBDS) is clearly a superior way to allocate draft slots than the Kentucky Derby (KD) method or random assignment, I can’t help but be pleased with being able to set my draft slot preferences for the 2006 NFBC with the KD method. A bit of strategy is involved and up till this point it has been fun (always a bonus).

Is KD an improvement over random assignment? I believe for most owners it will be. With that said, I believe there will be a few unlucky folks that will not benefit as much (or even at all) as other owners.

Overall, Greg and KP, I applaud you for having the courage to try a new draft slot allocation format…one that gives owners a say in their draft slot preferences. Well done!

I also agree Mark, but BBDS is at it's best ONLY when done LIVE

A better analogy would be - Do you think you can read someone at a poker table better in an online game or at the table

I didn't see this before today. I'm glad you've come full circle! :D Sometimes you have to do things that you feel are in the best interests of the contest and trust in your instincts. I thought this would work and after seeing how everyone is setting their preferences differently, I'm more convinced than ever that it was the right move.

could the kentucky derby interface and instructions on how to use be a little more user-friendly? probably. in fact i interpreted the KD system and instructions incorrectly the first time i entered my rankings. hopefully other owners are more detail-oriented than me
