Where will Soriano play this season and for what team? I heard rumblings today that he will be put on the disqualified list, if he refuses to play the outfield for the Nationals.

Not sure if this or legit or not, but it's been posted to a couple of places now.

My source on the ground tells me:

This just in...Alfonso Soriano just refused to take the field for the Nationals tonight against the Dodgers. The media's going crackers. Guess he doesn't want to play the outfield after all.

Guess not!

Soriano refused to play left field in Monday night's spring training game and may be placed on the disqualified list if he refuses to change positions. "We told him if we get to Thursday, and he refuses to play left field, we told him at that point we will request that the commissioner's office place him on the disqualified list, at that time -- no pay, no service time," general manager Jim Bowden told the Associated Press. This situation is suddenly getting ugly. He may force a trade as the Nationals may just want to get rid of this problem as long as they feel Jose Vidro is healthy.

From strictly a fan's point of view, I'd like to see the Nationals play hardball with Soriano ... take a similar course of action as the Philadelphia Eagles did with Terrell Owens. It would set a good precedent. There's no excuse for this kind of unprofessionalism.

Who would really refuse to play the OF for $10 million? No cost to the Nat's, well other than Wilkerson.
