Being the very fortunate recipient of Preston Wilson's early FOUR homeruns (so far), I thought I would put this out there to see if there are any other obvious over-achievers out there. Any thoughts?

Now...let's see...if I extrapolate those 4 HR's out over the year...HOLY COW...a new world record!

well p.wilson will probably stick around and produce health wise all season while mr tuffy pretty much flamed out after that 1 week. But how about Papelbon with 3 saves ? That was kind of out of the blue considering foulke and timlin are both part of the roster.

We seem to have four nominations so far:

1) Preston "Boom-Boom" Wilson

2) Jon "No Knee-Lube Required" Papelbon

3) Chris "This A'int Your Mama's Tigers" Shelton

4) Omar "I'm not dead...just in SF" Vizquel

Any others?

Wayne,

If I understand your poll correctly, you're looking for the one player doing his best Tuffy Rhodes imitation. That means,

1. coming out of nowhere

2. having a 1st week for the ages

3. causing fantasy baseball owners to wet themselves about the prospect of bidding enough

4. and then dropping like an anvil the rest of the season

That kind of rules out Preston Wilson since he really hasn't come out of nowhere.

I really wanted to propose Ryan Langerhans since I know you're a Braves fan, but Jason Smith and his .563, 3, 7, 4 line has to be the guy.

If Berkman keeps clearing the bases ahead of him, he'll have 30 HR's with 50 RBI's.
