I know most of us can pick several draft picks that did not work out how we expected, but what was your worst?
I had hoped to be very solid especially in my first ten picks and for the most part it worked (Teixeira, A. Rameriz, C. Lee, Lugo, B.J. Ryan, Schmidt, Glaus, Barrett). I felt I was forced to take Borowski in the tenth due to a second closer run and even that has worked out fairly well for me. My big screw up is I gambled with my eight pick and am now one of the many who have been burned by Prior. What was I thinking?

Easy: Falling for the hype and taking Felix over Thome in the 5th. Follow by thinking that Hermidia would have 20/20 potential. Now, I realized they meant 20 runs and 20 rbis, not HR and SB. Third, wanting to win saves so taking Orvella over Willingham.
Other picks that hurt: Dempster and Lidge!

2nd round ... taking Helton when I could have taken Soriano (didnt want to play Left and RFK all in one year )....yeah, I should have taken him over Helton.

Ensberg-Gagne-Rowand-Buehrle, 5-6-7-8... The rest of our draft was strong, but this stretch could have been much better...

Ah, where to begin? The 3rd round, when I took Carlos Delgado and his sub-.250 BA over Ryan Howard or Jim Thome? How about the 4th and 5th round picks of Marcus Giles and Coco Crisp instead of Vernon Wells, Chipper, or Rolen? Who was the genius who took Wife Beater Myers over Brandon Webb in the 7th...oh, right, that would be me. Jay Gibbons instead of Scott Kazmir in the 10th, hoo-boy, that's a good one. A wasted pick on Joe Borowski in the 11th when I already knew I couldn't pick up a second closer. Bruce Chen instead of Ervin Santana in the 18th, that's an oldie-but-goodie. And my favorite, picking up Luis Ayala in the 27th the day after he blew out his elbow.
And now I know why I'm mired in the second division these days...

Major League Bombing Here! Michael Young @ 13 Rnd 1 and Juan Pierre @ 18 in Rnd 2. Switch Young for Reyes, (who was available), and Utley for Pierre, (who was available), and I easily add BA Points, an extra 15-20 home runs, 15-20 extra SB's along with added RBI's and R's puts me in the top 3 in Tampa 2 instead of looking up from 5th-8th, where I've been for the last 6-8 weeks. Not to mention I would not have had to bear the weight of Biggio at 2B all year.
Oh well, I hate hind sight now that I look at that.

Ironic thing is we just wanted him or Michael Young to be there.

My major goofs were taking Helton in round 2 and and J. Peralta in round 6. It turns out that Peavy was not that great a pick in round 3 either, just too inconsistent.
