Eric Bedard really brings his game,
but next the Orioles pray for rain!
"Kris Benson will miss the entire season due to a partially torn rotator cuff, FOXSports.com's Ken Rosenthal is reporting. The Orioles wish they had Rodrigo Lopez back right about now, especially after getting so little in return for him. Benson's arm problems had mostly been confined to his elbow, so this is a surprise. He began feeling soreness in offseason workouts, and tests confirmed the tear. The injury will likely force the Orioles to bring in a veteran, perhaps Mark Redman or Steve Trachsel, for the fifth spot in the rotation. Adam Loewen's place now seems guaranteed."

Erik Bedard will now be going up against the other team's ace. lower his wins accordingly. sorry to the folks thinking he was going to beak out this year.

Other than Opening Day and possibly the first game after the All-Star Break, #1 vs. #1, #2 vs. #2, etc. almost never holds.

"Steve Trachsel and the Orioles have agreed to terms on a one-year, $3.1 million contract with a $4.75 million option for 2008, according to FOXSports.com's Ken Rosenthal.
That didn't take long. Trachsel will replace Kris Benson in the rotation, putting Jeremy Guthrie back in the bullpen mix and making it likely that Hayden Penn and Garrett Olson will open the season in Triple-A. It's unlikely that he'll have any fantasy value. Baltimore Sun."
I feel MUCH better about the Orioles chances now!
CC, do you still think Penn has a chance to win a job out of spring training, or will they have to wait for Wright to blow up?

LIS, lower his wins accordingly. I'm taking away 2 from his win total.

CC, do you still think Penn has a chance to win a job out of spring training, or will they have to wait for Wright to blow up? Wright is now reunited with Mazzone - remember his 3.29 15W 159k season under him in 2004? He may not be the guy that falters

I remember very well how Mazzone seemed to work his magic. Anything is possible, but the '07 Blue Jays, Red Sox, and Yankees are not shaping up like the '04 Mets, Phillies, and Marlins.

"Orioles and Bedard, don't take that fence in, a better draw is Anna Benson" (did you really want to talk baseball?)

Go ahead & draft Bedard,
But as Borat says, other Orioles are retard.
