Jered Weaver has tightness in his throwing shoulder and won't throw off a mound for "a couple of weeks."

Weaver revealed that he had an MRI last month

ALERT!!!! DON'T DRAFT THIS GUY!! His Vegas over/under on IP this year is 125.

GG ... I always read your post , because your obviously an astute player, but are you saying don't draft this guy at all or just don't draft him early..? Because, if he stays healthy all year he is easily a top ten pitcher and if you draft him after round 9, how much are you really going to lose by dropping him and picking up a free agent if you have to ? There are very few pitchers that go the whole season with out resting thier arm for one reason or the other. I think this guy is lights out , give him a cortisone shot and enjoy the rewards..!

"Jered Weaver (shoulder, biceps) threw long toss from 120 feet Wednesday and is reportedly hoping to throw from a mound this weekend."

"Every time I throw, there's still something there," Weaver said. "It's not pain, it's not discomfort, it's normal. After I get warmed up, it knocks itself out, so it's just a matter of getting loose." LA Times

I hate spring training double talk. "Well, my arm fell off, but that happens every time I throw...I just need a little more apoxy and I'll be ready to go!"
Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.

Mri's are usually not a good thing. Neither is a pitcher getting shut down a month before the season starts. Even if he is 100% healthy, he will regress this year.

Given his ADP is 7th round, I say pass. Even if weaver is healthy, there are pitchers I'd select before him in the 7th. Now if weaver was still there in the 11th or 12th, then I might bite. BUT we all know he'll be gone in every league by the 9th round.

Is it just me, or does anyone else think that WW is a GG alias.

No way, CR doesn't fit.

Though every time I see the name Chest Rockwell I think of this dancer I saw once, Chesty Morgan. She did this puppet show with her uhhhh.... assets. And what assets she had.

I keep thinking there is a connection since Chest is so entertainingly funny.

Thanks Coop- never knew you appreciated my work.

Actually I assume most know where my screen name comes from- but for those who do not it is Marky Mark's name in the movie within Boogie Nights.

Gordon you and I could never be the same person I would come up with much better than muuahhhhh, or you are just jealous of me when challenged.
