This time of year some teams are marveling at how good or how bad their teams are performing. Most likely their team is not as good or as bad as they may think.

Currently, four teams are hitting .300 or better. Only one team has hit .300 over the course of a whole year, that being George Kleeman's 'Lakeshore Drive' team from 2004

Slumpers can take heart in knowing that the lowest batting average in NFBC history was .256

Last year Joshua Sack's 'East Coast Schwag' team had 375 home runs, far outdistancing any other team. An average of more than two home runs EVERY DAY during baseball season would be needed to break that record.

Pitching wise, take solace if your staff has been horrendous, only two teams in NFBC history have finished with an ERA over 5, both of those occurred last year. Meanwhile no team has ever finished under 3.00, the closest was 'Absolute Power' with an ERA of 3.115 in 2005. As of now 22 teams are under 3.00 while 23 are over 5.00

A couple of interesting facts. Joe and Jim Thelan's 'Showtime' team have won two league titles and rank 15 and 16 in the lifetime standings. They have done this without garnering one save in four years.

This year the top three teams overall have ARod on their teams, five of the top ten.

Hey Dough

I am without question taking solace in regards to my staff Lost Ryan Felix for hopefully 2-3 starts ans now litearlly Pain In the Ass Gagne I have Arod and my hitting in my league NY7 with Joe Thelan in it has 69 points pitching about 18 Cracks me up every time my pitchers go A Reyes gives up all his earned runs in 1st inning then pitches well Not really worried because the pitching will balance and when it does if my hitting continues I should do okay

Good Luck

Marty Being #28 yourself in the lifetime standings, I have confidence that you will right your pitching staff before all is said and done.
