Kevin Mench lays down a bunt. Kip Wells fields and throws it away allowing Mench to go to second.
Scored a hit and an E, as usual. Mench takes off and STEALS THIRD!! off Y. Molina!!
Then scores on a balk!!
That's gotta be the most unearned run I've ever seen!!
I'd give him the run just on the basis of having the you-know-whats to even attempt to steal 3rd on Molina!

I watched the first part of the game. Mench could have walked to third, Wells didn't even give him a casual glance.
As for the earned run, it is left to the official scorer's discretion.
His probable interpretation is this:
Mench is on first with a single
He steals a base, he's on second
He's balked to third
He would have scored on the ground ball or fly out that ensued.
Balks and wild pitches are not considered when dealing with unearned runs. A good rule since they are both the pitchers fault.
