Soriano's Approach at the plate in '07

It's been frequently stated that Soriano will swing at anything. Perhaps in the past, but this year I have seen him take a different approach. Thus far, I have yet to see him swing at a single strike. No joke. Not a one. Granted, I've seen less than 50% of his AB's, but I've seen more than a handfull.....pitches in the strike zone, apparently, no longer have any appeal to this consensus #1 draft pick. No, he prefers balls out of the zone....there he goes again, as I'm typing this, flailing away at a breaking ball outside.

The interesting thing is, he's most zealous for balls that start about a foot outside the strike zone, with early movement, that break even further out of the zone. Conversely, more times than I can count, I've seen fastballs with little to no movement at or near the heart of the plate, and he hasn't swung at one(of those AB's I've seen).

Two months now, a third of the season is in the books.....he hasn't changed his approach, at least not while I'm watching.

In terms of fantasy numbers, Fonzie is looking more and more like Beltran '05 every day.

Lance....what's the over/under on Fonzie homers now? 19?

The great one has turned into Mike Cameron lite.
