I was surprised to see that a team in NY#9 dropped Jeff Francis last week, but did not say anything as this week he had a home start in COL against the NYY. However, 17 or 18 teams who do own Francis (hereinafter identified as the smart ones) opted to take a chance and leave Francis in. They were rewarded well. About 9 or 10 of us who own Francis (me included and hereinafter identified as the not-so-smart ones) viewed this as a potential gas can waiting to explode.

I had Francis last year and he did well for me. I guess I should have trusted him as his previous eight starts (including four home starts) he had given up more than two earned runs once, had about a 70% strike out rate, had averaged 7 IP per start, and had a WHIP of just under one. For you Baseball HQ devotees, with last night, he has had dominate starts in seven of the last nine games.

Oh well...you plays the game and takes your chances. I wish I had had him in last night.

I drafted Francis in the 24th round in the draftmasters league and he's been a major find.

He been pitching very well of late , and i have left him in since week 3.The cut of him is a suprise since he's pitching so well.
