Lincecum or Shields?

My league has a midseason draft where you can drop a guy and pick up a player. There is no waiver wire so you can understand why we do this. Who would you guys take in a situation where you could grab Lincecum or James Shields?

It is a keeper league so the guy would be had at $1 with no annual increases

A couple of good options, but given that Lincecum pitches in the NL West rather than the AL East, he might be the better play. A little less proven but more upside.

Watched them both pitch quite a few times, especially Shields.....I would go with Shields for the rest of this season. I think Lincecum will be better long term, but Shields is a lot better than he is given creidit for. He make hitters look silly. If he was playing in one of the big markets, along with a few other Rays, he would be a hot commodity...along with guys like Pence.

If the Rays can get their bullpen taken care of they are going to be contenders within the next few seasons. Shields has been leading the majority of the games he's pitched only to see the bullpen give up the lead. The Rays have more talent than the Giants even if they are in the AL East. You can't go wrong either way, but I say go for Shields.

1 for Lincecum, 1 for Shields. Man it didn't get any easier. Thanks for the input.
