Am I the only one that has noticed the drastic increase in routine plays being ruled hits instead of errors in recent years? I've seen, and I'm not exaggerating, over a dozen plays this season alone, so routine, I say to myself, if that's not an error, there's no such thing. I mean, it never even entered the mind that a play could have been ruled a hit instead of an error, and yet, amazingly, it comes to pass.
I'm also a little perplexed that I've never seen or heard anyone else comment on this.

I've noticed a ton of mis-played balls not go for errors. Not classical errors, but plays that a good fielder - with his head in the game - should make. Those can really take a toll on pitcher stats.
