Pettitte and the Media

Yesterday Andy Pettitte talked about his use of HGH and how embarrassing it is for him and his family. Questions about Roger Clemens went unanswered by Pettitte. Last night and this morning I heard a lot of talk radio about how Andy was getting a pass from the media because of all the years of honest communication and good will he had with members of the media. This interpellation of the story was coming from the media itself.



I think it is the media patting themselves on the back. I think they want to say “see, we don’t go after a player just because ..…”



My prediction. By the end of the week there will be stories by the media on how the media has treated Pettitte, which will result in a backlash against Pettitte. He will be subjected to greater scrutiny on Friday then he was on Monday. The media will want to live up to its journalistic integrity.
