As pointed out on another thread, Lastings Milledge has seen his ADP shoot through the roof in the last few weeks. Anyone have any negative opinions on this guy, or is he a lock for 20-20?

As you know Glenn, I am as high on "the Sledge" as anyone this year, and took him in two of my 3 satellites (19th round on 2/27, and 14th round on 3/12).

While I like him, I see more like a 15-25 season with more steals than homers. However, 15-25 with what should be a .280+ avg is a VERY nice pick anywhere after round 12 or so IMO.

I am DEFINITELY going to a Nats game this summer (probably when they play the "Brew Crew").

Just out of Vegas, the over/under for Rickie Weeks strikeouts in the 4 game series is at 10.

I'll take the over! :(

Hit the ball, you piece of...... !

Mill - my avg projection -

12-15 homers

18-21 steals

.278 - .283 avg

Assuming he gets 500+ AB

18+ HR

10+ SB

.267 BA

you guys seem very bullish on his numbers - good luck with that.

LAstings has more talent in his left pinky toe than Church could dream of..

I don't know about the rest of you Mets fans, but in what was supposed to be an uplifting spring after the acquisition of Johan Santana, it has been an awfully depressing one. It only gets worse. Lastings Milledge is scorching. Again, the spring is meaningless -- except for players vying for jobs -- but I believe the Mets made a terrible deal trading him away.

Milledge is hitting .406 with 5 steals and you know he wants to prove the Mets made a huge mistake. If he can lay off the outside breaking ball, he could develop fast since he has the tools. Manny Acta did a terrific job with a Nationals team that most people thought would lose more than 100 games last season and that should help Milledge get better. He will hit second in the lineup and is a good sleeper. He makes a good fourth or fifth outfielder in mixed leagues and a good pick in NL-only leagues.

from the bill james handbook, Acta is the 3rd worst manager when it comes to calling a steal (based on 162 game avg for managers). people thinking mill is going to run wild when the regular season hits may be a wee bit disappointed. AND that's not even mentioning the toe injury mill recently sustained.

BTW, he went at the end of the 9th round in my league.

The surest way to destroy a 15th round talent is to draft him in the 10th.

Hopefully for the mill owners he's successful on his first couple of sb in the regular season, otherwise Acta will pull the plug on the "greenlight" quicker than harden will miss a start due to injury!

Remember , you gotta give Acta some time man.. He's practically a Rookie Head Manager... He's never had a talent on his team like Lastings , so the true test will be this season...

Acta is a real tight ass though, i guarantee a "benching" or two for L-MILLS for not legging out a play or two..

this is sick.. www.milledgefacts.blogspot.com/
