Haven't seen too many teams from the 15 slot -- curious to see some more results. Here's mine from New York League 6:

1B Lee(3)

2B Weeks(6)

3B Zimmerman(5)

SS Drew(13)

CM Iwamura(21)

MI Kendrick(7)

OF B.J.Upton(1)

OF C.Young(4)

OF Kemp(8)

OF Milledge(12)

OF Willingham(15)

UT Butler(14)

CA Ruiz(19)

CA Snyder(20)

Bench: Jacobs(22), Dukes(24), Broussard(26), Hairston(27)

SP Jake Peavy(2)

SP Ian Snell(10)

SP Phil Hughes(11)

SP Andy Pettitte(17)

SP Matt Garza(18)

SP Boof Bonser(23)

SP Nate Robertson(25)

RP Huston Street(9)

RP Jonathan Broxton(16)

Bench: Saunders(28), Moylan(29), Aquino(30)

I would have liked a better 4th pitcher (or more specifically, a better 2nd pitcher). The place for me to take that pitcher was the 7/8 turn, but couldn't pass on either Kendrick or Kemp at that spot. I keep telling myself that having Peavy is like having two pitchers, so I'm okay. Right? :D

Hmm, I went 15 in my league as well. The only guy we both have is Broxton. That's interesting.

We went in completely opposite directions.

I think you have pretty good balance. Decent power, decent speed. I would have picked up a 2nd SP sooner, but you spelled that out. I like the Zimmerman and Butler picks.

I think your team can compete, especially if guys like Milledge, Kemp, Butler do indeed take that next step. That and hope that Weeks and C Young don't kill you BA!!

BTW-I pondered Upton the entire week, but made up my mind friday that barring anything unforeseen, it was Phillips. I'll be watching that all season.

One certain i've learned in all my years of the NFBC - If you walk out of the draft and you LOVE your pitching then your offense is in trouble.

Your O is real nice and you did a good job addressing the RBI shortfall with the reserve pickups.

Picking out of the 14 spot in the ultimate I never could pull the trigger on that lame CL#2 so I'm also stuck with 1. Is that the curse of the 14/15 spots ?

That CL#2 was indeed tough. Didn't help that nearly all the closers were off the board by Round 11 or 12 I believe. So yes, it is a curse!!! Hopefully, Wood is indeed named the closer, then I'll feel a little better about my pen!!

Iwamura (3B and soon to be 2B) at 21.15 was ridiculous value, but he can be swapped out with Jacobs or Broussard if need be. When Butler qualifies at 1B, I'll have even more options for the Utility. Very happy with how the bench turned out.

There are a lot of curses with the 14/15 spots, and I still can't figure out why our esteemed colleague Mr. Deterra wanted it so badly. Seems that you always come up short in something, and yes, 2nd closer is a problem for me as well.

(1) Upton or Phillips

(2) Peavy or Santana

(3) Fielder or Howard

Knowing that (3) was a longshot, I was pretty sure how my first two were going to look. Upton and Phillips project to similar numbers, but I gave the edge to Upton based on his multi-position eligibility. Sure enough, I needed it as Weeks and Kendrick fell to me.

Hey KOQ, one thing that stands out about this team is that bench! Jacobs, Dukes (wth Wily Mo out), Hairston and Broussard are a nice foursome of talent sitting on the pine.

I'm not a huge fan of Upton this year, as I think he's being ovebought, but thats a personal issue. By using him in the outfield, as opposed to 2B, I think you're further diminishing his value.

That said, with 4 legit 20/20 threats in your outfield, you have a nice balance of power and speed. I'm very big on Garza, and think he can be the #4 guy you currently think you lack.

Bluebloods must see something there - he's a fine player. All it tells me is that I FOR SURE got the last choice via KDS. Not a good league for that to happen :(

Good stuff. I had Upton and Ortiz down for the 15/16 spot. And on the off chance Crawford or Sizemore slipped, I had one of them to pair with Ortiz. But finally friday night, I made up my mind. Phillips and Big Tex.

And for the record, Crawford did indeed slide late. Just not late enough.

Good luck. Especially with the Broxton pick!! ;)
