C - Jorge Posada - he did well in a freeagent year but his age will catch up to him.
1B - Joey Votto - Has this guy done anything yet to warrent any special attention? Scott hatteberg will play more under dusty baker. I dont believe the hype yet. Will he even get 350 at bats? maybe next year.
2b - Rickie Weeks - here is a guy who has done nothing but rattle off a nice 235 average, and hasnt even shown a flash of brillance yet.
SS - JJ Hardy - will not come close to the numbers he produced last year. the HRs #s where a mathmatical anomaly. no more then a 250 hitter.
3B - Hank Blaylock - only for the simple fact that I believe his injury from last year will effect him this year.
OF - Grady Sizemore - the numbers are ok, but do they warrant 1st round fantasy pick? there are alot of monster OFs he doesnt impress me.
OF - Bobby Abreu - Where is the power? This guy was drafted in the 3rd or 4th rounds of most drafts.. alot of betters ofs taken after him. Being a yankee helps his fantasy draft postion.
OF - Eric Byrnes - one really good year in his whole career and he is a top outfielder? no way this guy hits 280 agains and steals 50 bases again.
SP AL - Chein Ming Wang - he wins 18 games a year because he plays for the yankees. But he strikes out 90 batters a year. You need K's he doesnt get them. The yankees might not be as good as in previous years. maybe he only gets 13 wins this year era goes over 4.
SP NL - Carlos Zambrano - Has pitched 900 innings in the last 4 years. he breaks down this year in a big way.
RP AL - Houston Street - Not only will he not stay healthy , but Oakland will trade him to be someone elses setup man.
RP NL - Jose Valverde - A trade to Houston is just asking for disaster. Finally put one good year together, and Arizona dumped him as fast as they could. I would also consider Fransico Cordero here . I just think that contract and pitching in the GAB will hurt him.

You forgot Shane Victorino and John Maine. Some guy took them in the 4th and 7th rounds in the main event.

I think you are spot on for most of these...but just because Abreu does not hit a bunch of HR does not mean he is not worth a pick there...he gets picked cause of the other things he does...like score 120...drive in 100..steal 25...hit .290 or so...very solid player...

Abreu does a lot and doesnt deserve to be on this list. Also Sizemore will go 30 , 30 this year , he already has two two homerun games this spring.I also thing Blaylock will bounce back big this year and was a bargain in the 12th round.

Nice write-up, but I will take exception to Blalock and Abreu, mainly because I have them both (11th and 4th round, respectively).
On Blalock, he was pretty impressive when he came back late last year, so he may have found his power stroke again and he is in a contract year.
On Abreu, forget power. I am not a real big fan, but as a rule-of-thumb, add up his counting stats (HR+R+RBI+SB) and compare it to the counting stats (and BA) of those other, better OFers you were thinking of. He is veteran, playing on a proud team, and he is in a contract year.
I hope I am right and you are wrong, but we shall see in about six months!

Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.

Mike, I agree with most players on your list, except for Weeks and Wang.
Weeks has shown something before, albeit briefly and I really think Wang K's more people this season.
I will say I had a hard time finding a player named Houston

I agree with most of the list. Abreu is solid though and Maine is being described as the Met with the best stuff so far - just Spring Training, but has to be a good sign.
Sizemore is also nice, but I see what you mean about 1st round...will probably end up with second round numbers, but you know what they say "tomatoe" "too-ma-toe"
Also, if Blalock found his power stroke, I have to wonder who injected it for him...

Rickie Weeks "hasn't even shown a flash of brilliance..." Uh, isn't the frustration with Weeks based entirely on the fact that he HAS shown that flash of brilliance? According to this logic, Felix H. is overrated, too.
Do good.

Hey Sebadiah23
Dont you know its bad luck to talk about another team? the Fantasy Gods will send you a whammy for that one.
I dont think it is out of the scope of reality that shane victorino can put up bobby abreu type numbers.
And as far as maine goes ill take a pitcher who can win 15 game and K 180 + batters ... He was our highest ranked Pitcher at the time and we stick to our plan! LOL
As far as your team goes its really good. I believe your the team to beat.
Tell Mace and Baily hello... You should get the Championship PJs This year instead of the Jersey...LOL
Unless Jeff Baker puts up Ruthian Numbers LOL
Please dont take offense if a player is on your team...All and all Its just one persons opinion we can all differ... Hey And Remember GOD LOVES YOU!

I'm not sure how Abreu can be on this list the guy is one of the most consistent players in baseball who now plays for the best offense in the world. He had a horrible 1st half last year and still finished with above average numbers. He will continue to have good years and I expect him to have a great year this year...I'll take Posada in the 6th round over martin and victor in the 2nd any day and I also took Maine in Rd 7 and by years end he will be talked about as value there... just my 2 cents
Sometimes I'm good and sometimes I'm bad....but I always try real hard.

Foot knows I was just busting because I have Weeks. I helped my friend draft a satellite on Sunday and we took Victorino, although in that case in was in the 7th, somehow he lasted. But anyway, he should be solid and nothing wrong with Maine. Like Foot said at the draft, if you love a guy you might as well make sure you get him and not play the "how late can I get him" game and get burned.

Foot im not saying take all spring stats and run with them.Sometimes spring stats can help , with Sizemore he's hit 28 homers and 24 homers the last two years he's also just 25 years old.At that age i dont think Sizemore has hit his peak in power and i think 30 homers this year isnt a reach.Like i said hitting 2 homers in a game twice this spring is a sign of thinks to come.
I hAVE Sizemore in my top 15 and expect a big year.He went 11th in the Super and i had pick 12.
I did get him in the AL Auction [1300 league] for 32 dollars and did get him pick 17 in the 1000 dollar satellite league. So we will see.

Who is this Foot guy ?...lol
Hey Mike Wilson pretty good write up partner. I see how people can take exception to Abreau. You and I don't value him as much as others and both of us being Yankee fans it's hard to believe.
I do think that he's an excellent player and for him to come back and post his usual nuumbers was impressive. The problem is that he's getting up in an age,you could consider him an injury risk and the big question will he run as much, he could run more with Girardi now.But he is steady he just has to play.
Also you and I differ on Sizemore.I agree whole heartly with EddieG.He's young and has a chance of being a 30-30 guy. I think if he was lower in the order he could concentrate more on driving in runs than getting into position to score them.
As far as all the other players I agree (especially Weeks) and the throw in comment on King Felix is on point.
Patrick agreeing with Mike and me...I'm a little nervous....lol
Craig two days of sitting next to us in the drafts in NY and you got the Hatorade out.lol... Nothing personal we all agree to disagree.
As far as the Maine pick goes....if Chris Young ,King Felix, Dice K and Rich Hill go there.Maine is just as solid.
What he offers is that he will be the number three pitcher ..just like Blanton and Lilly were last year and you see how well they did..15 wins and very good numbers. While the other listed above are 1's and 2's.Maine fits our profile nicely of 15 wins 200 k's the era and whip will be fine.

The main reason I put Weeks and Sizemore on the list isnt because they stink. They are good players with alot alot of potential. I personaly just think they are never going to live up to The hype around them. they will always be good, but never as good as we think or believe they will be. After listen to everyone maybe im wrong on Bobby Abreu I have never really been enamored by what he does, but he does put up good numbers. I guess I Could put Alfonso Soriano up here too in the same reguards ... But thats just me ... lets Go Yankees!

I guess you'll have to define overrated. Do you mean living up to hype on the message boards and press in relation to their draft pick or their performance on the field this year.

If one takes out Abreu's first two months last season when he was dealing with an oblique injury, his Yankee #'s are great. Anyone that got him in the 3rd or 4th round this year should end up being pretty happy about it. Same with people that got Wang in the 11th or after. Those guys aren't overrated.
