John Smoltz said he felt a knot in the back of his shoulder while throwing five scoreless innings in his return from the DL on Sunday.



Anyone know what the "knot in the back of a shoulder" translates to?

Yeah. I studied kinesiology. What it roughly translates to is, "I'm 40 years old with over 4000 IP on my arm. Cut me some slack if I feel an ache after I throw gas for 75+ pitches."
