The A's have pushed Rich Harden back from his scheduled start Tuesday and will go with Chad Gaudin instead.



No further info was given, but he was held to 86 pitches his last time out after having thrown 95 the time before that. He was bothered by biceps tendinitis this offseason.

I think the issue is more that Duchscherer (scheduled for Wed.) is getting pushed to the DL and Gaudin was scheduled to pitch (in the minors) on Monday so they would rather both guys get one extra day than one get too much rest and the other not enough.

Also, as far as I know Duke has Biceps Tendinitis and it has never been an issue for Harden.

Canadian baseball fans hoping to see Rich Harden start against the Toronto Blue Jays on Tuesday night at the Rogers Centre will be disappointed.



The A's sent word through the Blue Jays media relations department that Chad Gaudin will replace the Victoria, B.C. born right-hander as Oakland's scheduled starter for the opener of the three-game series.



No reason was given as to why the oft-injured Harden, 26, will not make the start. Harden did not immediately return a message seeking comment and late Monday afternoon a team spokesperson said it was unlikely any explanation would be made public before Tuesday.

This is what happens when Susan Slusser is laptop happy and she has too much to drink on the plane.

Golly who would have seen this one coming? Poor guy just can't stay healthy.

Harden said the strain is under his arm on his right side and that he still feels it when he throws.

Damn, I had April 20 in the Harden pool.

That owner was better as a Spartan than a Lich King, Spartacus would welcome a return of the Spartans. Somehow I think that owner will do alright.
