Anyone think Tim Lincecum could be the top pitcher taken next year in any draft?

Lincecum, Webb, Johan, Peavy and Sabathia sound good.

This could be the year when the Top 5 starting pitchers go lower than at anytime in NFBC history, or am I over-reacting? Just seems that way right now.

[/QUOTE]greg - think of it in terms of the nffc. in the first year there was like 20 rb's being drafted on aveage in the first two rounds. this year, how many rb's were there 13???

passing on a pitcher in round one next year is a given.

Greg im with you the top pitchers wont go till the 3rd round at the earliest .Santana and Peavey just werent worth their draft slots.Plus their wont be two pitchers next year as high as Santana and Peavey , i see about ten pitchers that could be top ten pitchers. It's going to be fun , cant wait for next yearat the FLAMINGO.

CC signs with the Yankee's, there could be two pitchers going in the top 15. Him and Johan. If not, then early in round two for sure. After that, later in round three for the likes of Webb and whomever ends up the league championship series heros. FRod could acually be the third pitcher taken.

CC Sabathia will end up with the Braves next year. John Smoltz, Tom Glavine, Mike Hampton will not and there is your money.

Boy did I love getting Lincecum this season...definitely going to have to pay next year. I agree, probably no pitchers in the 1st, but in the 2nd, well we know some won't resist.

For #1 pitcher next year....I know it won't be Justin Verlander. That guy makes me sick. I'll be honest, I barely watched him pitch last season and bought into his hype....thankfully in one league only....anyways, I watched him pitch a few times this season and he doesn't impress me at all. Am I missing something or did those numbers lie from last year?? Of course, look no further than his teammate to see numbers lying, Galarraga.

Who's the Tim Lincecum next season, if there is one?

Lincecum/Johan #1 next season, even though I think Lincecum is better.

Loved getting Lincecum and much later Volquez. Next year both go much higher than this year.

What else does not get drafted early in 2009? CATCHERS.

CC is California bound - my guess is the Angels.
