Wayne, also with the uncertainty in the Closer situation of as many as Ten teams (Boston,Cleveland,K.C.,Cincinnati,Cubs,Florida,St.Louis,San Fran,Dodgers, and Tampa) you'll find that guys who may take Closers in the first ten rounds of the Main Event are finding the pickings a little on the slim side for this Mock Draft. When these situations clarify themselves, you may find guys like Eric Gagne and Adam Wainwright in the ten round mix.

Quite frankly, there is greater starting pitching depth this year. If you can draft Rich Harden as the 33rd SP taken with no apparent anomalies drafted before him, then I think that shows depth. Besides 52 out of 153 isn't an egregiously low percentage when your splits are going to be 60.86% Hitting and 39.14% Pitching.

Each draft assumes its own character, I think its a fair assumption that out of 23 drafts for the main event LY no 2 were the same.

God Loves you- it would take intervention from the Good Lord himself to make Ty Wigginton worth an 11th round pick- are you taking this seriously?

[/QUOTE]Dak- I am not a smart man don't get your comment- but I am smart enough to know the name Wigginton even though 2b eligible should not be uttered until after the 2nd break.

Alex Gordon that early is an interesting play- We all felt Liriano went way too early last year in a similar spot in our league and we were all wrong.

11-10 Stephen Drew

... I'd agree with both of you guys, Wiggi in the 11th is one of the more suspect picks thus far.

kj- to me- that was the pick of the draft so far. it really is going to depend on where he hits. they hit him 7th and 8th last year. thats the problem with arizona- all their guys are the same guy. they really have no clear batting order.

Completing my All-Orlando keystone combo, at 11-12 I'll go with Orlando Hudson (Gold Gloves count in this game, right?).

Guess you could say it was a "homer" pick, but not many players will be eligible at 1B/2B/3B and eventually OF this upcoming season like Wigginton. He's even played catcher a lil for the D-Rays so you never know. I wouldn't be taking him this high come March, but time will tell. I am envisioning a more potent lineup this year, so last years stats could be the minimum for him. Plus he helped carry my team when Chipper went down last year. I am loyal to players who help me. Best $1 I've ever spent.

Last year I was heckled for taking Howard, Kazmir, Willingham, and H.Ramirez early as well, so I am used to being ridiculed. Of course I deserved it with the Hermida pick, what a bust he was.

And yes, I am taking this seriously. I wouldn't participate if I wasn't. And I doubt I could do anything to change anyone's ADP.

What is the earliest you see Wigginton being drafted?? Seriously....

KJ, would you have said a 6th round pick on Marques Colston in football was suspect? Or how about the Bears D in the 5th?

I would've waited on Wiggington also. I don't think it's THAT much of a reach though based on last year. Just mho. I happen to know Mr Dalrae won't be online till tomorrow morning. Since I know him though I will try to contact him for his pick tonight.

It's possible he could go 11-12th rd in a couple of drafts, but I think 16th-17th would be more typical.

If he is in fact a clear starter he could be a nice late round CI, especially with 3-pos eligibility. What would worry me is that his career has been that of a guy that teams plug in until they find a better option.
