Mock Draft #3

asumi- i hope your asumi's are correct. me- i liken his situation to braun. for your sake- take the braun comparison over gordon- because gordon was drafted in the 8-9th round and played like a 22nd rounder. braun was drafted in the 22nd- or even not at all and played like a first rounder. in fact the early drafted rookies almost all stunk and the late rounders were awesome (see pence, braun, linceum et. al.)

No, but I am the guy that tried to start a "run" by taking Papelbon at 4.5. Nathan is a bargain here.

Nathan does not go that late if he is traded to another team, but could have a chance with no Santana and already no Garza, no Hunter, they are definitely starting to rebuild, how many chances will he get, he was about 10 to 15 in saves last year and it can only get worse

Pence in round five seems rather high. I own him in three keeper leagues and holding my breath against a sophomore slump, continued injuries or rookie fluke.

I considered Pence at 5.3 He is set to hit 3rd in front of Berkman and Lee, so he should do just fine IMO

I do like Pence in Houston rather than a larger park. It will be interesting to see how Cooper runs the show there. I still see that as a reach in the 5th.

I, too, think Pence will be all right. Anything can happen, but even after the fracture he put up good numbers. I do not think he will ever be a great power hitter unless he hits fewer ground balls and, though I have not seen him play, I read his swing is a bit strange, but I would put him on par or better than the other outfielders left available (except one! :D who will not be out there much longer).

Now, for my pick. Time for a staff anchor...let's see...Zambrano is out there...nah!
