Bobby Crosby (SS, OAK)

We have another Bobby Crosby injury update. The roller coaster known as what ‘is wrong with Crosby’ has taken another turn. He struggled with back woes late in the season and managed just 13 at-bats the last two months. His back problems supposedly were related to a disc problem then a back sprain (sacroiliac-joint strain). Now the final word is a spinal fracture of the L-5 vertebra. As of early December, his activities were limited, yet he says he’ll be ready by the opener. If you sense a bit of uncertainty regarding his playing status for 2007 you are not alone. Let’s face it, we won’t know for sure until April 1 if he’s ready to start the season or not.

At 19-12 I'll take a chance on another young arm who had a great second half (79K's in 80IP, 6 Wins, 2.93 ERA, 1.05 WHIP) and has the second best K/9 ratio of any remaining SP:

Lot of bargains in the last few rounds, fellas. Do you think a lot of these guys will shoot up the rankings by draft day? I wonder if the haphazard style of this draft allows a lot of players to be forgotten. Most probably don't have draft lists at this point so it's hard to keep track of who is even available. Thoughts?

dak, i think what he means is- you took one good closer and pitching late- 1 of many draft formulas. i inherited a team that picked santana 1st- it was nice to see if i could "catch up" in hitting. hope he returns- i think he is up.
