Post by Tom Kessenich » Mon Jun 08, 2009 2:42 am

Congratulations to Lindy Hinkleman, who claimed his second first-place finish in the Online Championship this year, posting 5,096 points last week.

Albert Pujols (.292-2-9), Todd Helton (.286-1-7), B.J. Upton (.386-1-6-2) and Ryan Zimmerman (.333) led the way offensively. Roy Halladay was magnificent, fanning 20 and winning twice to lead the pitching staff. Ubaldo Jimenez won once and struck out 13 while Trevor Hoffman, LaTroy Hawkins and Joe Nathan combined for six saves.

Congratulations again to Lindy and good luck to everyone in the Online Championship this week.

Way to go Lindy!

I think we need to impart the words of the famous Yankee CATCH er, Yogi Berra -

"It's like Deja vu all over again"

Great job, but keep your ass right where you are in the Overall standings! ;)

Lindy, I think you have met your quota on weekly titles. Great job AGAIN!

By the way, can I have the same stats from Ryan Zimmerman (.333 avg) as you got....it seems he hit only .195 for lil ole CATCH this week.

What was in the CDM water this year in Las Vegas? :D Great job Lindy, Sack & Co. Lots of CDM players at the top of this Online Championship and in the main event. Does that mean you folks are kicking butt in that contest, too? ;)

Lindy Hinkelman Is Week 9 Online Championship Winner

Lindy Hinkleman isn’t sure how his wife Patty will respond, but the present he received on his 35th wedding anniversary turned out to be a very special one.

On Monday, Hinkleman celebrated his wedding anniversary. That’s also the day he learned his team had topped the Online Championship field for the second time this season, delivering 5,096 points last week.

“To top this week off, I’ll turn 57 on Thursday,” Hinkleman said.

Nice week, Lindy.

As far as the Online Championship went, having Roy Halladay as your staff ace has proven to be a terrific thing this year. That was definitely the case last week.

“Anytime you have Roy Halliday throwing a double start, you feel your team will have a good week,” Hinkleman said. “Justin Verlander and Josh Johnson both had a solid week and are having solid years. I have three closers and all three had two saves.

“Trevor Hoffman has been great so far. I was not exactly jumping for joy with the thoughts of him being my second closer on Draft Day. Funny how that works. My offense has been real solid all year, led by Albert Pujols. BJ Upton looks like he may have turned the corner.”

With that lineup, it’s no surprise that Hinkleman is among the top contenders for the Online Championship crown. There’s still a lot of baseball left to be played, but Hinkleman is enjoying the ride so far.

“It is exciting to be in contention for the top spot overall with Ken Magner,” he said. “I edged him out this week, but he's ahead of me for the year. We helped each other out quite a bit in planning for the drafts and during the drafts. Three of my better hitters in Miguel Tejada, Carlos Pena and Nelson Cruz were taken on Ken's advice. I look forward to battling him the rest of the year.”

I'm speechless, therefore I'll let 'the most interesting man in the world' speak for me: "Stay thirsty my friend!" ;)

P.S. Happy Anniversary
