Congratulations to Jeff Posin, whose team led the way in the Online Championship last week with 5,233 points.

Nyjer Morgan (.529, 4 SBs), Edwin Encarnacion (.586-2-6), Chase Utley (4 RBIs, 3 runs) and Yunel Escobar (.500-2-8) led the way offensively. Roy Halladay and Aaron Cook combined for two wins and 15 Ks and Mariano Rivera and Brian Fuentes combined for five saves to lead the pitching staff.

A little help on the Waiver Wire can go a long way toward ensuring success in fantasy baseball. Jeff Posin found that out firsthand last week.

Two key free-agent pickups – Edwin Encarnacion and Nyjer Morgan – helped propel Posin’s team as it led the way in the Online Championship last week with 5,233 points.

Morgan (.529, 4 SBs), Encarnacion (.586-2-6), Chase Utley (4 RBIs, 3 runs) and Yunel Escobar (.500-2-8) led the way offensively. Roy Halladay and Aaron Cook combined for two wins and 15 Ks and Mariano Rivera and Brian Fuentes combined for five saves to lead the pitching staff.

“One of my best decisions at the draft was to go with my gut and take a chance at taking Chase Utley in the first round,” Posin said. “I also like to take one top starter and look for guys with big upside that I could grab a little later in the draft, like Verlander, Kershaw and Jackson.”

Posin is a married attorney with 7-year-old twins. He lives in Henderson, Nevada.
