Brian Roberts has played 11 years with the Baltimore Orioles.
One of seven players that has 10 years of service and played with only one team.
Chipper, Rivera, Jeter, Helton M Young, and Rollins are the others.
Sadly, even though Roberts is an every day player....
He has only been in 200 more games than Mariano Rivera.....
Houston has a terrible team. They know it, the city of Houston knows it, and of course, Roger Clemens knows it.
When fans come to the game, they know they will see the worst of what Major League Baseball has to offer.
Still, there are two venues that draw even fewer fans than those wishing the Colt 45's could make a comeback.
Oakland and Tampa have contending teams and are last in attendance.
Oakland is in the midst of trying to move and the low attendance only adds to their ammo to facilitate that move.
Tampa is a spring training town. The retirees like to come out in spring.
The Tampa facility looks like a joke on tv. Tampa owners should follow the Oakland thinking in moving out of a town that does not appreciate good baseball......
On the other hand, almost 2.5 million folks have gone through turnstiles this year at Wrigley Field.
Almost matching the errors the Cubs made this year.
Cubs Management may realize that they do not have to spend money to get fans to come.
It would not surprise me to see the Cubs not sign a free agent.
Their fans knew before this season that the Cubs would be bad this year. Really bad.
And still, they came.
Speaking of attendance, a trivia question-
Just 10 years ago, in 2002, what team led all others in attendance?
(Hint: It was the last time that the Yankees, Dodgers, or Phils did not lead in attendance)
Answer at the bottom of this post....
Angel Pagan has 12 triples this year.....
So do the New York Yankees.
Mike Trout has 45 stolen bases this year....
The Baltimore Orioles have 48.
Some like to say that with the influx of money, the Dodgers and NL West are stronger.
The last three home run hitting teams in the Major Leagues are:
The Padres- 105
The Dodgers- 95
The Giants- 87.....
The Rockies have given up more runs (764) than any team in baseball.
They are calling the four man rotation with a limit of 75 pitches per starter a success.
Tis the political season where results of actions do not matter, isn't it?.....
The Milwaukee Brewers join the Rockies in being the only two teams without a Complete Game this year.
That'll make one complete game in two years for the Brew Crew.....
The 27 quality starts racked up by the Rockies pitchers will be the lowest by a team in years.
The Rockies may be the first Management in history to bring up quality starts to agents when talking about their clients...
Being consistent is usually a good thing in baseball... except for when being consistently bad.
The Seattle Mariners have been at the bottom of Major League hitting three years in a row.
.236 in 2010
.233 in 2011
.233 in 2012
Seattle fans can only contemplate the days of the past when Ichiro was young and Boone was bulked and Mike Cameron was a 25-25 player...
Because that is the answer to the trivia question.
The Seattle Mariners led baseball in attendance in 2002.....
