Thank You Notes

Post by DOUGHBOYS » Mon Dec 10, 2012 10:16 am

In the Jimmy Fallon tradition....

Thank You, ARod-
For your sense of urgency.
You scheduled your surgery for the middle of January with a 4-6 months recovery period.
That scheduled Christmas vacation comes before the Yankees.
Priorities were never a strength for you.

Again, Thank You, ARod-
For announcing the surgery well before the drafting season.
There were still some that think of you as a second round draft choice.
You saved them from you and themselves.

Thank You, Dayton Moore-
Especially from Andrew Friedman, for not starting the Wil Myers clock last year.

Thank You, Andrew Friedman-
Not for fleecing Dayton Moore, anybody can do that.
No, this is from all the nickname haters. 'Big Game' James Shields won't see another one for two years.

Thank You, Los Angeles Dodgers-
For emulating the U.S. Government in ways of spending.
The luxury tax, like the National Debt, is merely a number.

Thank You, New York Yankees-
You've become 'thriftier' as a spender.
But, in offering Kevin Youkilis a 12 million dollar contract to play third base, you will be paying 37 million dollars to cover one position. That 37 million would be spent on employees who will call in sick....often.

Thank You, Guy who said, 'Those that do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it'-
I thought about you when the Reds announced Aroldis Chapman would be a Starter and have his innings limited.

Thank You, Josh Thole-
For making that dream of every kid making the Major Leagues, seem so much easier knowing that you made it.

Thank You, Padres Management-
For your sense of timeliness.
Adrian Gonzalez played in Yellowstone for years, robbing him of home runs.
With the Dodgers, he'll now find it easier to hit homers in San Diego with the fences moved in.

Thank You, Interested in Dexter Fowler GM's-
Fowler's splits were .332/51/10/39/5 at home
On the road, .262/21/3/14/7
The good news is that if peddling a Starter to the Rockies, you can sell them that that Starter, is an 80 pitch a start horse.

And Thank You, Murphy-
Not Dale, or Daniel, or even David.
No, this is a Thank You to Murphy's Law.
That law will see to it that Wil Myers blossoms into the Star that none of the other Royals prospects will become.
On my tombstone-
Wait! I never had the perfect draft!
