Junk

A reminder that Junk is just opinion. Everybody has one.

Atlanta backers have been sad that the Braves have been trading all of their major league talent. Really, they only have Freeman and Teheran left as true Braves.
BUT, and it is a big BUT, they have so much talent in their pipeline, especially on the mound, that they have to be excited for their team in the future. Fans don't like hearing about their future. They want instant gratification.
For Braves fans, that'll have to come this year and next while watching one of their minor league affiliates.
In 2018 though, they can become as excited as Cubs fans have become.

This last deal with Arizona was a steal for the Braves. Swanson, Blair, and Inciarte? Shelby Miller is a nice pitcher. But, he is not a higher echelon pitcher. Swanson alone, for Miller would have made sense. Inciarte and Blair would have made more sense.
But, the Braves caught Arizona while on a Greinke high. Fooled into believing they are instant contenders.
Braves fans who have hated seeing their beloved Braves traded can be bolstered by this trade. In my eyes, Miller was never a true Brave. More like Norman Greenbaum, a one-hit wonder In the end, Miller may be one of the most valuable players the Braves have ever had. He'll be the man who brought Swanson, Blair, and Inciarte to Atlanta.

The press so overstate things. They paint the Mets as being severely hurt by not getting Ben Zobrist.
Really?
The Mets never had Zobrist!
A mid 30's player is the savior for a team who went to the World Series?
The Mets are driven by their Starters. The most important element for the Mets is the health of those Starters.
Not a 35ish infielder/outfielder.
Stupid press.

The old guard of the NFBC debate whether the Cutline, in it's daily game scoring form, is a viable product. Some like the scoring in a points form, while others want the NFBC to stay true to its roto roots.
Ha!...Roto roots.
So far, I haven't heard one comment about the Cutline one way or the other from new NFBC folks.
What I have heard is how primitive our site is.
I don't use a phone much to draft, only in fantasy emergencies (more than half hour on the clock), but there are tons of drafters who do. These drafters are stymied at how badly this site treats their phones.
I would be willing to bet that most drafters would just like to see a site that hums and supports all devices.
A draft room that is easy to chat in.
And so many other irritations that us veterans of the NFBC have become accustomed to.
To alot of these new folks, new contests should not be rolled out at all till our site is cleaner.
And becomes a site that supports all devices.

Manny Machado went from a player on questionable knees, taken in double digit rounds last year, to being a first round choice this year.
AND, if Machado has his way, he could be a top five pick.
Machado would like to go back to playing his original position of shortstop.
Buck Showalter relented a bit last year. While JJ Hardy was hurt, Machado played seven games at the position.
A year of good knee health behind him, Machado just may see at least 10 games at shortstop in the coming year.
Heck, he may become the Orioles shortstop.
A 3B/SS positionality for a player who hit 35 homers?
That would be pretty special for his owners.
Sign me up.

Now that we're farther away from Daniel Murphy's hot post-season, how much extra money do you think it nets him now?
If I were his agent, he would have been the first free agent signed.
Murphy has lost his window in being a comparison with Ben Zobrist.
Playing first, second, and third base is his calling card now, not his hot post-season.
At most, he'll be lucky to get a three year deal for 40 million.
Now, hemay have been better off in just accepting the 15.8 million qualifier.
Stupid agent.
On my tombstone-
Wait! I never had the perfect draft!
