I'm guessing that not many people read this stuff. Maybe, at best, 10 percent of NFBC Drafters and probably a lot less now with the influx of $50 leagues.
Mostly, just hardened NFBC veterans, sprinkled in with a couple of newbies who are curious.
So, I believe this would be a good testing grounds to measure the ideas for improving the NFBC in some ways.
I'll give some of my ideas, but please, chime in with some of your own or agree or disagree with mine.
It is not like everybody is watching us here, so it is a good forum for ideas...
1. Sound
We get a warning when on deck or up from a voice and the prompt we use.
That sound goes away when we refresh or re-start.
Sometimes, without us even knowing.
I would like the sound to stay as is through a refresh or re-start.
2. Message Boards
These Message Boards are horrible. I see a bunch of new people that can't even access them. The other day when asking Admin why a drafter could not access the NFBC Message Boards, the Admin answer was 'Try another browser'.
I don't go to many sites, but I have never been told to try a new browser to view any product.
Ugh.
The Boards themselves are archaic. When pictures are used, it makes a thread that more difficult to view.
If past posts or number of posts can't be saved, does it really matter.
Besides Greg and Tom, I have more posts than anybody. THAT and a dollar will buy me nothing at Starbucks.
Greg likes these Boards in the same way I like an invitation to dinner from my Mother-in-Law...Dinner and these Boards are free.
3. NFBC Players
We should be getting more credit. There should be records of leagues won. Whether it be DC's, Auction's, Cutlines, or Main Events.
There should be records of how many times a player cashed.
Their should be archives of achievements by all players.
When Greg announced Mark Srebro's list of league wins and accomplishments in his Hall of Fame announcement, I had no idea of the statistics used in that post concerning Gekko. It was impressive to be sure.
Why not get those numbers to the forefront?
Why only bring those out for one purpose?
As is, we can see the winners of last years leagues, along with every loser who didn't cash.
Why waste the space on losers?
List WINNERS from each league from every league in the past.
Then, list each player who has cashed in an order that would be easily identifiable to readers.
Those achievements should be front and center for all to see, EASILY.
It should come with a click. Easy as that.
It would be the least the NFBC can do for those that have been in the NFBC for a long time.
