Picks can be entered into the NFBC site in any order. Plus we can really eff up the ADP if the league gets added in

But, keep in mind we're going to be at the auction for AT LEAST 5 hours - at least. Everyone will have to agree to stick around and be in a good mood. These on-line auctions can....get....umm......frustrating.

These will be considered 'satelites', so the adp should be unaffected, darn it!

That was my thought too. Some folks may not want to wait up to re-draft. It'll be late and some with their 23 teams intact may just want to hit the hay....

Ok, we will start taking signups here.
Greg has said that the software should be ready by February. So, we'll make a date for Friday, February 7.
We should start it as early as possible as rookie drafters will probably make the draft longer. If getting more than 15 signups, we will move to make two drafts. This sign up page will be moved to 'General Discussion' sometime this weekend.
So, if interested, sign up asap. Thanks!

Auction Slow Draft, Friday, February 7-

2. Mike Mager
3. Roger Martin

To be clear, this is being run as a hybrid auction/DC?

Will we be required to fill out our legal 23? FWIW - this is standard in auctions then the reserves are a free for all.

The auction site could have an issue if we can have any combo of 23.

To keep the spirit of a traditional auction, my preference is everyone leaves with a legal 23 and then the reserves is whatever you want. Part of nominating strategy and bidding strategy involves considering who needs what to fill out their legal team. Just my opinion but losing this element of an auction detracts from its elegance.

Agreed.
We're drafting 23 players and we'd all be on an even playing field in drafting a complete lineup.
A legal team it is. This is mostly a learning experience. We want it to be just like an auction would be otherwise.

Roger,
I have to admit this is all new to me. Pick a night between February 8 and 15 and I'll put it on the Boards for you in the form of a signup.
For others, I can start a NL too.
We can also start a second draft on another night after the seventh. I told Greg we may be filling drafts involving 15, 30, 45, or more drafters.

One question about NL and AL drafts. Are there enough players to adequately fill 50 man rosters?

The AL and NL only can be run conventionally. (6 man reserve)

I'm assuming FAAB would be in play for this, right?

Yeah, that mimics the $1300 AL and $1300 NL Vegas live drafts so it shouldn't be an issue from the commissioner end.

Yes, if somebody wants to set a date for an NL or AL, let me know, I'll start it up.

FWIW -- the 12 teamers should take 4 hours, give or take 15 minutes. The reserve draft can be done right after.

The only suggestion I have is to wait until almost all of the free agents are signed.

I would love to join this league. Did you say a $250 entry fee?

Thanks. I might be interested in doing a second auction, too. Especially if we could drum up interest in a $250 league.
