He was born alone.
Impossible, you may say, but it happened.
He went through his childhood as a nobody. Befriending nobody.
Eventually, he would take the wrong road to life. Hacking became an everyday ritual. The internet became the childhood friend he never had.

He would go from town to town, hustling pool and playing poker.
He drank alone. He would over eat alone. He used narcotics alone.
He would actually join groups for these disorders, the only groups he ever joined.
At the same time, there was some good in this man.
He would leave donations in every town he visited.
Donors like him were hard to find.

And now, he is coming to the NFBC.
And some people are afraid.
The NFBC is the first group he will join without a disorder. (Although clearly, even that is up for debate)
Instead of fearing him, we should be welcoming him.
He's different, the basis for our fear.

So, let me be the first to greet and welcome you.
After the folks get used to you, you'll fit right in.
Take a seat and get ready to draft.

I’m a Yahoo kid.

I’ve been playing fantasy baseball for a few years now and I’m good at it.

I think it’s time to put up my money and test my skills.

I think I’ll check out this NFBC league I’ve heard about.

Wow! They have lots of options on games and price ranges. But this is my first time, so I think I’ll start small with a $150 league.

I see that Draft #4 is open.

Wait, that’s weird. All the names of the participants are listed except for one. Why would they do that? What’s the back story behind that? That discussion I saw on ESPN over the weekend….was that about this event???? I don’t remember all the details, but I do know that it was a high stakes event that didn’t pay off its customers.

I need to think about this before I give them my CCard number. Can I trust these people?

Why would they list someone as anonymous? Is it a house player? Is it someone with two entries in the same league? I mean it is true that I don’t know the other 11 names on the list and they could all be phonies as well, but something about this is different. The proprietor of the event is saying flat out that there is at least one player in this event that is known only to him and that it could be anyone.

I wish I would have paid better attention to that ESPN story. All I really remember is that there was some shady business practices going on in some high stakes events and that there is no real regulation.

I think I’ll just keep my money and stick with Yahoo and my home league………………………………………..

He told me. You're an extremely good guy Dan, one of the best I've gotten to "know" on these boards. I hope you're drafting in Vegas this year so I can finally meet you in person.
