Why the New York Mets really don't want R.A. Dickey to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro:
10. Your life insurance isn't paid up
9. Looking at Kilimanjaro makes David Wright think of Citi's fences
8. Where in Puerto Rico is Mt. Kilimanjaro?
7. You're one of our best hitters!
6. We've already sent a scout, Sasquatch is good hit, no field
5. Snowballs don't knuckle!
4. For charity?
We're a charity!
3. Can we send Jason Bay instead?
2. Omar Minaya wanted to set up a minor league team there
1. Our PR people only know reverse spin.
We know this is a feelgood story, but it's too late

Re: Top 10 Reasons-
The climb itself is not considered technical at all. Nor is there much of a threat from the wildlife. They are most concerned with the conditions described below :
Acute mountain sickness is the name given to two life-threatening complications of acute altitude sickness.
Both have a high mortality rate and may occur when you have already spent 24 to 36 hours at 'too great' a height (typically over 3500 metres). These are:
* HAPE - high altitude pulmonary oedema (water in the lungs)
* HACE - high altitude cerebral oedema (fluid on the brain).
