I get my exercise!

Post by DOUGHBOYS » Thu Mar 08, 2012 7:45 pm

I go on vacation tomorrow, so my posts will be limited over the next 10 days.
And this is just a reply to a few people for other exercises before drafts....
Sure, here is one more:
This is the 'Are you sure?' exercise.

Everybody, in one form or another has a list or lists going into a draft.
For this exercise, set your list to the side.
Look at a reliable adp.
Compare players that are both close together on the list and in your mind.
Write down the player that you think is first on your lists.
Check them against your lists.

A usual score for me is 9 or 10 of 10 (I do them 10 at a time)
The ones I am wrong on, I go back and question myself as to why this player is higher on my list, but not in my minds eye.
Sometimes, I'll have forgotten about a stat or notation that goes with the higher placed player and sometimes I'll list my minds eye player above the player on the list.
On draft day, it saves us the angst from drafting a player and then thinking five draft picks later that somebody else sounded better than the player already chosen.
The last drafter we want to fool on draft day is ourselves.
This is a good exercise to keep that from happening...
On my tombstone-
Wait! I never had the perfect draft!
