Stuff and Junk

Post by DOUGHBOYS » Mon Apr 02, 2012 3:58 pm

STUFF-

1. Only 101 NFBC Main Event teams last year had a batting average of over .270...

2. Zero had a .300 average

3. Zero had even a .290 average

4. Only nine had teams hitting above .280

5. Just five years ago, in 2007, 320 of 375 teams had a batting average of .270 or more

6. In that year, two teams hit over .300 and 134 teams hit more than .280

7. In 2007, 14 teams had 300 home runs

8. Last year, just three teams had 300 homers

9. Last year, 27 teams had over 200 stolen bases

10. In 2007, only nine teams had 200 stolen bases

11. In 2007, 94 teams had an ERA under 4.00

12. In 2011, 300 teams had an ERA under 4.00

13 In 2007 and 2011 an average of one pitcher was taken in the first round

14. Only four catchers scored more than 65 runs last year

15. Only three catchers had 500 at bats last year. One was VMart, the other two?.....Santana and Wieters

16. Billy Butler has had 140 doubles over the last three years. 19 homers and 95 rbi last year alone

17. Coco Crisp has had 94 stolen bases and 19 homers over the last three years

18. Coco Crisp was chosen close to Billy Butler in some drafts

19. The HIGHEST average Mark Teixeira had in any month last year....264

20. The LOWEST average Eric Hosmer had in any month last year....253

JUNK-

1. Nolan Arenado will put up better numbers than Harper or Trout

2. Hosmer/ Gordon are first rounders next year

3. Still, the Royals lose

4. Kershaw and Strasburg are the first pitchers off the Board next year

5. The Cubs have a worse record than the Astros

6. Mark Reynolds has hit 113 homers since 2009, third in baseball, does not hit 20 home runs this year

7. Cody Ross has never hit more than 24 homers in his career....This year he hits more

8. What do Quentin Tarantino, Bo Jackson and Charles Barkley have in common?
They're all 49....like Jamie Moyer

9. Aybar/Kendrick/Pujols all hit over .300 with 60/60

10. The best arm without being fantasy relevant this year....Aroldis Chapman

11. Mike Cuddyer adp zipped from 15 to 7th round after the trade. He returns 15th round numbers in Colorado

12. Ubaldo Jimenez is miserable this year

13. Mets for sale...Trump leads a buyers group

14. Cespedes, Ian Stewart, Pedro Alvarez all see time in the minors

15. Matt Moore has 16 k game

16. Yu Darvish has 18 k game

17. Chris Sale outpitches Feliz and Bard in the reliever to starter sweepstakes

18. Addison Reed becomes Jake McGee....hype to irrelevant

19.Minnesota does not have a 15 game winner or a hitter with 20 home runs

20. Darvish, Holland, and Lewis win more games than Halladay, Lee, and Hamels
On my tombstone-
Wait! I never had the perfect draft!

Not so fast there, Phillie Phanatic!

Those three only got six more wins than CJ Wilson/Lewis/Harrison last year.
Two of those guys went past the middle of NFBC Drafts!
Although the better arms are in PhiLand, the better team resides deep in the heart of Texas.

phillies don't win 85 games. texas wins 100- and finsishes second to the magics. hosmer= higher batting average than tex- check. more sb's- check. sounds like 2007 when i joined this great game and looney tunes was all the rage. well- at least no more missouri missouri posts to read because each non missouri missouri pick is that persons exception. you either are our you aren't. looks like we lost a member.

I'd love to wager a 2013 ME entry fee on that one... :D

I hope your right, I drafted Arenado in all 5 of my drafts 28th round or below. Of course with a name like DenverDan maybe I'm just a "homer" but I think for this year Arenado puts up much better numbers than Trout or Harper. He's going to get a shot, the other 2 may only be September call ups.
