From more than a few crafty drafters, I heard that drafting National League West pitchers would be a priority.
The hitters were thought to be weak in this division.
The venues in San Francisco, San Diego, and Los Angeles are pitching parks.
That all being said, except for the NL Central who have one extra team, more runs have been scored in the NL West than any other division in baseball.
And despite that one team advantage, the Central has only scored eight more runs than the West.

The Pittsburgh Pirates are helping in the low scoring department. They have only scored 11 runs in seven games.

Is it just me?
It seems like the rest of two leagues change playing partners while the Mariners and A's keep playing each other.

For some reason, I dislike a 4-1-0-1 box score. If the player was going to be that busy, mix in a freakin' hit, would ya?

Here is a stat/trivia to fool your friends with and a baseball record that'll probably never be broken as well.
Mariano Rivera and Jorge Posada teamed up to close 369 games.
In these days and times, for a pitcher and catcher to stay together over that length of time is just incredible.
Saves were not an 'in vogue' stat till the seventies. So, old timers are left out of the equation.
Since the save stat almost coincides with free agency, it's safe to say that this record may never be approached.
If your friend or baseball mind answers the question correctly, pat him on the back, and drive him crazy by asking who is second on the list.
I'll have the answer at the bottom of the post.
One hint: Instead of thinking close to 300 like Rivera/Posada, think mid 100's.

Yoenis Cespedes has 13 strike outs already...And that's against the Mariners.
How many will he have in the real world?
Cespedes also only has one single.
JP Arencibia has 11 strike outs and one single.
Just me, but except for a few stolen bases, these players stats will be similar at the end of the year too.

Nelson Cruz is hitting .138
He has one home run and one run scored.
An injury now would be a good excuse to get him out of the lineup.

I owned Joey Votto on both my Main Event teams last year.
A solid player who drove me crazy.
He's like a finicky cat. He won't go outside his zone to hit a ball. It has to be perfect. Great for real baseball. Not great for owners. With runners on, we want him to be THE MAN.
Not a cat.
Votto seems to prefer a walk and pitchers are fine with giving him that walk to get to Rolen or the next Cincy hitter.
Votto already has seven walks in eight games.

Robinson Cano does not have an rbi this season......

Carlos Beltran is hitting .345 and three homers.....but only four rbi.....

Pedro Alvarez is hitting .063 with 10 strike outs and zero walks....

Desmond Jennings has six hits, all singles and only one stolen base....

48 at bats, four hits, three rbi, two home runs, and 18 strike outs
That is the stats from the Lucas Duda/Ike Davis combo......

Hanley Ramirez is hitting .133
But between Cabrera, Trumbo, and him, he has made the best adjustment to 3b.
Trumbo is a mess there, just slightly better than a tether ball pole...

Two 2b lead baseball in extra base hits
Ian Kinsler....and Omar Infante.....

The Boston Red Sox have hit two home runs....Two

The New York Mets have ZERO stolen bases....

The aforementioned Votto has seven walks
So do thes the entire Pittsburgh Pirates team....

That's all, Folks!

The closest pitcher/catcher combo to Rivera/Posada is Nathan/Mauer with 159....
On my tombstone-
Wait! I never had the perfect draft!
