Numbers

Let's take a look at some numbers that may come as a surprise to some of you....

30
That is how many games in a row that Jordan Zimmerman has started without giving up more than two walks....

.144
That is what Cincinnati Reds leadoff hitters have batted this year....

5
That is how many homers Carlos Gonzalez has hit off Ted Lilly.
CarGo is 7-17 off Lilly...

279
That is how many points right handed batters (.373) have over left handed batters (.094) vs. Matt Harrison....

7.68
That is Luke Hochevar's ERA at Comerica Park.
Hochevar was a former number one pick in the draft.
Taken ahead of Longoria and Kershaw and Lincecum.....

96
That is how many at bats Albert Pujols has.
Significant in that he has the most at bats in baseball without both a home run or stolen base
Per home run, he is making infinity dollars...

0
That is how many games Nelson Cruz has missed this year
Cruz is hitting .234 with two homers
Cruz is answering the age old question....'What would this guy do if he were healthy all year!? '....

1
That is how many homers the three top base stealers have between them.
Dee Gordon hit it last night. His 10-steals partners, Starlin Castro and Emilio Bonifacio have none.
Judy judy judy

4
That is how many games Matt Kemp has missed during the last four years.....

8
That is the number of year's between ARod beating out a bunt last night and the last time he had beaten out a bunt...

9
That is the number of years between shutouts for Jerome Williams....

.520
That is what Derek Jeter hits off Brian Matusz, 13-25.....

.127
That is what the 1-5 hitters have hit vs. Ricky Romero
Unfortunately, 6-9 have hit .292 vs. Romero
And even worse, .360 vs. just the 8-9 hitters.....

65
That is how many runs the Pittsburgh Pirates have scored this year.
By contrast, The Rangers (131) and Red Sox (130) have scored twice that amount.
The Yankees have more than half that amount in home runs (38).......

247
That is how many hits the Texas Rangers have in 24 games, averaging a little over 10 hits a game
This is brought up to illustrate how hitterish (shuddup spellchecker, they know!) the year, 1930 was.
We all know how the Rangers have been beating everybody up with hits
In 1930, four teams AVERAGED over 11 hits a game.....

3
That is how many hitters (Kemp, Hamilton, Granderson) have at least as many or more home runs than the Chicago Cubs this year
Kemp, Hamilton, and Granderson have as many or more homers (30) than 102 NFBC Main teams also.....
On my tombstone-
Wait! I never had the perfect draft!
