Off topic question

Pardon the intrusion, but I don't know anywhere else on the Internet to ask this question.
Do pants and shorts for skinny guys come with the extra button in a tiny plastic bag or do clothes manufacturers only assume that fat guys like me expand our waistlines during the life expectancy of the pants/shorts such that we pop the button off and have to sew a new one on? Because, well, you know, we're going to start to lose weight and refuse to spend money on a bigger pair of pants we're only going to wear for a couple of weeks.
