'I've Seen Better Busts On a Mannequin! '

It is time for the Annual All Star Break Busts list.
To qualify for this list, each player had to be picked in the top 10 rounds of NFBC Drafts.
They could have had injuries, even enough to make the dl, but long or season ending maladies means they get a pass from this list, not with their owners.
They are the dogs of the first 10 rounds. The same players that were valued in March, are now the same players we cuss at every day for under performance.
Here we go...
Catcher- We go with two catchers as we're making an NFBC starting lineup with this bunch of hacks.
The first catcher is also the first catcher taken in most drafts.
Jeff Mathis has a higher batting average and as many home runs as Carlos Santana.
Jeff Mathis!
'Nuff said.
Catcher- I feel a little bad putting Alex Avila here because I know he has been plugging his way through injury. I wanted to put Mike Napoli here, but Avila has the numbers. Bad ones.
First Base- Anybody who took him has been 'Hosmered'. Hosmer was fools gold for this year. He may figure it out in future years and could even turn it around this year. But, at pick number 29 overall, he is a major disappointment to his owners.
Second Base- Personally, I feel that Rickie Weeks has had his good year and now will fade into the sunset, collecting big checks while doing little to earn them.
Harsh, I know. But Weeks is off to a good start in proving me right.
Third Base- Everybody's favorite whipping boy. Kevin Youkilis is at the top of his year right now. He is on a new team and that usually invigorates a player. But soon, too soon for the White Sox sake, Youkilis will start complaining of something. It could be a toothache, stomach ache, or foot ache, something, the same something that'll give his owners a head ache.
Michael Young gets a mention here as well. His stats are as empty as my head.
Being a multi-positional player gives owners the option of having his empty stats almost anywhere on the infield.
Woo hoo!
Shortstop- Robinson Cano and Derek Jeter started as a double play combo in last nights All Star game. The Angels and owners of Erick Aybar and Howie Kendrick had the same hopes.
Jeter has as many home runs as the Aybar/Kendrick duo combined.
Middle Infielder- We don't have to go too far. Aybar's buddy is the perfect candidate here.
Mike Trout has stolen Aybar's leadoff spot and Kendrick's thunder.
Corner Infielder- I didn't understand why this guy was going so high in drafts. He went on a weight reducing plan during the off season to become a better 3b. When sluggers think defense, it's time to move him down our lists.
Although Buck Showalter was pleased to see Mark Reynolds make that commitment, his owners miss the bulk needed to hit the big flies.
Outfielder- In my mind the most disappointing outfielder this year. Although hitting .274, his stats are empty. He's a judy without wheels. So he has become a leadoff hitter.
Alex Gordon had an overall number 54 when it came to NFBC drafts. Quietly, his fools gold is as bad as Hosmer's.
Outfielder- A tale of two seasons within a half season.
Chris Young was kicking ass before his injury. Now, his owners want to kick his ass.
Outfielder- What do you do with a hitter who can run but has little power (except in batting practice)
Why, you move him to third in the lineup. At least if you're the Seattle Mariners.
No matter where Ichiro would have hit this year, the result probably would have been the same.
He's lost a step. And when you're used to beating out infield hits, a step is the last thing you want to lose.
Outfielder- He was a sexy pick wasn't he?
Cameron Maybin could really look good at times.
Yep, they say that same thing about Drew Stubbs.
Outfielder- It seems that a lot of judys are making this list.....And they say speed never slumps.
It does.
Just ask Coco Crisp
Utility- Let's do this position right and get a real dh.
Before the season, Jesus Montero owners couldn't wait till he could qualify at Catcher.
Now, his owners may be looking for better options at catcher.
Montero has 170 more at bats than McKenry but only one more home run and 10 more rbi.
Sp- No mystery here. Tim Lincecum was the overall number 33 pick.
If you got him at 43, how's that 'value' working out for you?
SP- A guy with a lotta bad luck and some bad starts.
But numbers talk, and he ain't getting the wins.
Cliff Lee is already mathematically eliminated from being a 20 game winner.
SP- He's known as a first half pitcher. And he blew in the first half.
Dan Haren is a no hoper for this year.
SP- While most new Managers try to bring out the best in players, Bobby Valentine has done the opposite in Boston.
I get a sense that Red Sox players are phoning it in for the most part.
It's too bad, I like Jon Lester. But it looks like he doesn't want to pitch for Valentine or the Red Sox.
His owners suffer for it.
SP- Josh Beckett....See Jon Lester
SP- This guy seemed to have some sorta magic pitching in the toughest division in baseball.
Ricky Romero's ferry dust is gone.
Sp- We hoped for the best coming off Tommy John. We got mediocre.
Maybe Wainwright is still a year away from getting back to normal.
But, that doesn't help his owners this year.
Here's a tidbit for Wainwright owners to illustrate his mediocrity-
Wainwright 4.56/7/98/1.35
Harrell...... 4.56/7/65/1.35
Sp- He was sexy. He was a lefty. He was a flame thrower.
At least he looked that way at the end of last year. This year, Matt Moore looks like Mary Tyler Moore.
Ohhhhh, Rob!
He 'robs' his owners.
Closer- It's tough finding many closers in the top 150, let alone, those that failed.
But, not impossible.
John Axford has 15 saves.
Remebering my Mom's rule of 'if you can't say something good about somebody, don't say anything at all'...
I'll repeat that John Axford has 15 saves and hope my Mom won't read this post
Closer- Remember Jordan Walden? Neither does Mike Sciosia. Walden was 133 overall on our lists and is the same number on Saves list.
After just one save, he was pulled from the job and never got another chance at getting it back.
Too bad he's not a catcher. Scosia's toleration for bad catchers is the opposite of his toleration for closers.
Below are the Overall NFBC Number picked and the stats of those under performing players
