I Saw Stupid, Not Baseball

Post by DOUGHBOYS » Sat Oct 06, 2012 9:27 am

Is it just me?
Yesterday, I looked at four teams who went through 162 games of a season, knocking out other teams and staving off challenges, only to have their seasons come down to one game.
How fair is that?
Major League Baseball announced changes stating how good it is for the game and giving more cities a chance to make the playoffs, instead of giving the real reason, which is always the same, the almighty $.
Yesterday's games left a bad taste in my mouth. I did not feel as good for St. Louis and Baltimore as much as I felt badly for Atlanta and Texas.
And that is not the way it should be.

Wild card entries should be penalized, but a one game 'series' cheapens the 162 game season and means little.
The Houston Astros can beat the Washington Nationals on a given day.
I didn't watch exciting baseball yesterday.
I simply watched the execution of two teams who played 162 games for nothing.
On my tombstone-
Wait! I never had the perfect draft!
