The Other Mr. B & C

In the last post, we had a look at Mr. Brash and Cocky. Now, we'll take a look at another Mr. B & C.
Mr. Bashful & Conservative.
This Mr. B & C had its roots in home leagues and free leagues. Winning a lot there, this Mr. B &C decided to try his hand against the big gunslingers.
This Mr. B & C hardly ever contributes to the Message Boards if at all. He leaves that for the more opinionated. Although, he will look at every post.
This Mr. B & C buys a lot of fantasy publications and subscribes to a lot of sites. He has his favorites. And if his favorite expert likes a player, he starts leaning towards that player as well. He isn't a sheep, but he he's the type of person that could have a vote swayed by a roto call.
He believes in value at a draft. If a player falls two rounds below his adp, he will more than likely draft that player on his next pick. He'll even pat himself on the back with his perceived bargain. Not knowing that his subscribed sites did not update him that that player had a sore elbow.
This Mr. B & C believes in his draft lists. Usually liking to get infielders first, believing that they are harder to find near the end of a draft. He likes veterans. He believes in the theory that if a player displays a skill, he has that skill for the rest of his career. He drafts Ubaldo Jimenez, sure that he will once again have another great year. He drafts Jeff Francoeur for the same reason. In his mind, Francoeur, who has shown flashes in the past, is a lot safer bet than Wil Myers, who could be a 4A Dud.
This Mr. B & C likes Mark Buehrle and Darwin Barney.
He thinks he can't win a draft with picks like Buehrle and Barney in the 20th round, but he won't lose it with them either.
They'll never kill him, like a Francisco Liriano or Rickie Weeks could.
He is ok with injury risk, as long as that injury risk is on a veteran.
He'd never take Jacoby Ellsbury, but he can't pass up Chipper Jones late. He'll look back at his NFBC teams and note that Chipper was on seven of his ten teams.
Those teams never cashed.
This Mr. B & C looks at the other MR. B & C at drafts and silently curses him. He looks at him as a showoff and somebody that has his own set of rules. How stupid it is to take a player 20 spots ahead of his adp.
He asks himself, 'How in the Hell does that guy win drafting like that'?
He convinces himself that it is only to garner more attention to himself. Something he doesn't need, but that the other Mr. B & C craves.
When finished drafting, he'll compare his drafts to others. The other teams are fraught with danger players.
How could this guy take Jacoby Ellsbury over Matt Holliday?
How could this other guy take Matt Moore over Dan Haren?
He'll use one of his few posts on the Message Boards to ask others how his team looks.
This Mr. B & C is tired of finishing in the middle of the pack.
Before the NFBC, he won a lot of leagues and doesn't understand why now, he cashes so seldom.
His teams are always solid, but at the end of the year, bam, there he is, middle of the pack.
Next year, he vows to make more changes.
He won't.
This Mr. B & C says he'll change, but he won't.
He's Bashful and Conservative, heavy on the Conservative.
His approach will never change.
It's the way he's wired.
And if we've forgotten his name, which is easy to do, we'll start looking for him, in the middle of our standings.
