Let's play 'Scenarios'.
I'm drafting in my third draft at the present. I have a sense of adp at this point, although it is still more varied than it will be when major drafts arrive in March.
I'll list the first six players of three different teams of drafts that I have been in.
Your job is to tell me which team has the best start and who would be a good selection for the next pick.
A response here, by pm, or e-mail is fine, I'll include all responses on this thread.
Team One
1. Miguel Cabrera, 3B
2. David Price, P
3. Mark Teixeira, 1B
4. Carlos Beltran, OF
5. CC Sabathia, P
6. Paul Konerko, 1B
Team Two
1. Robinson Cano, 2B
2. Clayton Kershaw, P
3. Curtis Granderson, OF
4. Paul Goldschmidt, 1B
5. Yu Darvish, P

Tell us who has the most preferred start to a draft and a player or position that could help these teams next....
Scenarios
Re: Scenarios
Nobody cares. So, I'll just give each team's next pick and move on.
Team one chose Jesus Montero with his next pick.
Team two, Miguel Montero.
Team three, CJ Wilson.

Re: Scenarios
there are part of each teams start that i like and there are parts of each that im not wild about. but what im having a hard time dealing with is seeing edwin encarnacion going in the 3rd round.
Ency went off last season with 42 homers.. a pretty large jump from the year before. everyone has always waited on him and his bat to wake up but unfortunately he has a 10 cent head. i know that murphy (hitting coach for toronto) has done some amazing things with bautista etc, but there is no way im spending that high of a pick on him.

Re: Scenarios
It seems like every season, this happens.
A lot of folks have been waiting for Edwin Encarnacion to do this for awhile. Now that he's done it, is it repeatable?
It could be, but in the mix, Encarnacion has gone from 3B to 1B, and that is significant. First base is the safety pick for most drafters. Low in injury and high on numbers.
At 3B, we're prone to gamble a little bit. Heck, our gamble on Zimmerman is just as good as his gamble on Longoria, we tell ourselves.
It's a Catch-22, in that Encarnacion loses 3B eligibility, but now there is less chance of him being injured.
Over the last two years, the second most productive 3b behind Beltre has been Aramis Ramirez. Simply because Ramirez has kept himself healthy over the last two years after being injury prone for years.
I'd probably pass on Encarnacion in most cases too.
There is another matter to worry about when drafting him.
There are first basemen later that come cheaper. And I would be shocked if one of these first basemen were tagged with a 50 game suspension, I couldn't say the same for Encarnacion.
