Fast, Medium, and Slow Drafts

So where are you at in your 'Champions League' Draft?
I would like to see choices next year. First I think the clock doesn't matter. That's right. The clock doesn't matter.
So far, I have been involved in three drafts using the NFBC Draft room.
The one I signed up, a typical draft, lasted 12 days. That's a good pace for a spur of the moment sign-up.
Then, there are are the two other drafts. These were called 'a well paced draft'. The meaning is implied in the name that the slow thinkers and those not around a 'sending device' much need not apply.
The first of these drafts last just eight days. Every drafter a sweetheart. Each courteous, communicative, and timely.
The second of these drafts is ongoing. It's 'Mia's Draft' and we started it Saturday at 3 p.m.
When we knocked off last night, we were almost done with the 16th round. Ahead of the pace of the other 'well paced draft'.
Same sort of drafters.

Since the start of the well paced drafts, the 4 hour clock draft has come into play. They also had a quick draft. But four or eight hours, the timing for the drafters is implied in the names of both drafts.
If you're slow, you don't belong.
Next year, we should have three different draft choices:
Fast paced drafts for those near a 'sending device ' and able to monitor drafts most of the day.
Medium paced drafts for those that cannot be around a 'sending device' or monitor most of the day, but will probably never be longer than a couple of hours.
And slow paced drafts for the folks entitled to their eight hours or have jobs that preclude them from being timely.
It would prevent a lot of frustration.

We've had a couple of mis-types by cell phone resulting in drafters not receiving the players wanted. Greg was informed and, voila, things were fixed almost immediately. No roll backs, no re-picks, just on our merry way. That is a huge improvement over last year. A lot less time consuming itself.
Greg takes a lot of grief for not having this or that, but when something is done right or fixed, he should at the least get an 'attaboy'.
So, 'ATTABOY GREG' !

These slow drafts are becoming streamlined. It seems like a train leaves the station once a day and we have a choice to be on it or not. It's awesome. Sure the draft room could be better and other things can make it a smoother ride, but I think we're all on board with how cool this is to win prizes and hardly better preparation

Mia's Draft has 15 competent drafters. Each worthy of drafting in any league or venue. Each demonstrating that these drafts can be even better when like minds are sitting around the cyberspace table. The slow draft season ends in a couple of weeks and our attention turns to satelite drafts and the shorter clock. Let's not forget next year, these slow drafts can be even more of a kick in the pants and a better experience for all.
Maybe one draft can finish in less than a week.
Another in three weeks.
And yet another in six weeks.
And all 45 drafters will be glad they came.
