Here are some notes from the first week of the season....

Brendon Ryan has three runs scored, just like Ryan Braun...

Mike Trout has three runs scored and an rbi, just like Jose Iglesias....

23 pitchers threw at least five innings and have a 0.00 ERA.

There were no rain outs...

Kevin Youkilis has not gone out with a one day injury...

Cole Hamels has racked seven strike outs, while giving up 13 earned runs...
Or is it gave up seven strike outs, while racking up 13 earned runs?

Some Closer E.R.A.'s...

Marmol- 27.00
Axford- 20.25
Rodney- 16.20
Cishek- 15.43
Holland- 18.00
Fujikawa- 11.57
Street- 9.00
Papelbon- 9.00
Putz- 6.00
Soriano- 6.00

For those that don't care for Dusty Baker's Managing style...Yes, Aroldis Chapman does lead all of baseball in appearances with five.

Who has the most extra base hits after the first week?
Nope, it's not Chris Davis....it's Coco Crisp

Carlos Gonzalez is the only player listed in the top ten of NFBC adp to be among the leaders in runs scored....

Prince Fielder is the only player listed in the top ten of NFBC adp to be among the leaders in rbi...

Andrew McCutchen is the only player in the top ten of NFBC adp to be among the leaders in stolen bases...

There are no players in the top ten of NFBC adp among the leaders in home runs....

Brett Wallace has 17 at bats. He's struck out 13 times. His owners are suffering...

Justin Upton has 22 at bats. He's struck out 11 times. His owners don't care...

Astro's Wallace, Chris Carter, and Rich Ankiel are all in the top five of striking out. This only begs one question....
Where's Carlos Pena?
Yes, this team could set more strike out records....

Mike Stanton- .182/1/0/0/0....with 10 strike outs...

Quick! Who is Miami's second best hitter?
If your answer was Christian Yelich, give yourself an attaboy....

Aaron Hill owners have been pleased with his numbers.
Sabrmeticians and those speaking Numerish have to be gaga about his one strike out in 29 at bats....

Adrian Gonzalez, Ryan Zimmerman, Alfonso Soriano, Paul Konerko, AJ Pierzynski, VMartinez, Marco Scutaro, Cameron Maybin, Justin Smoak, Jonathon Lucroy, and Drew Stubbs, AND Jose Altuve all have something in common.
None of these players have scored a run yet...

Mike Trout and Miguel Cabrera have as many homers and stolen bases as I do....

And I would have been easier on your batting average than Luis Cruz' 0 fer 17....

Mike Napoli and Pedro Alvarez both have struck out ten times....They haven't walked yet.....

In two games and 16 innings pitched, Clayton Kershaw has knocked in more runs than he's given up....

James Shields has 14 strike outs and no walks.....

Rondon before the season....Marmol this week....Axford and Holland on the vine...
You know what that's called?.....Baseball Season

Those that drafted Chase Headley and Corey Hart at Main Event drafts got big discounts.
Those that drafted Brett Lawrie did not. Why?......

In seven innings, Matt Harvey has given up one hit.
In 2 and 2/3 innings, John Axford has gotten eight batters out and given up eight hits....

Can't they come up with anything more imaginative than 'Axford Axed?'
How about 'Ax-Closer becomes Ex-Closer' or 'Axcommunicated' (shuddup spellchecker, I'm trying to be funny here....spellcheckers have zero sense of humor!)......

Seven catchers had multiple homers the first week. All are hitting at least .300
None are named Buster.....

Aaron Hill is three for 18 with nobody on base. Seven for 11 with runners on....

Jackie Bradley Jr. is sitting today. 'A day of rest'. When I was that age, I never needed, 'a day of rest'.
And this is Opening Day for the Sox. The Sox flunk the good PR test.....

Announcers are even worse this year about making Super Men of their home town team.
Ugh........We all sit on toilets.......Even your players....

For all fantasy players but one- It only gets better from here....
For the Fantasy Player on top- Don't get too comfy.....
