NFBC Stuff

Usually by now, we have had our week during the season where all teams are scheduled for a week. With the new interleague schedule, that doesn't happen this year.
The scheduling really turns strange later this month.
On Memorial Day, the Rangers and Diamondbacks will have a two game series in the form of a double header.
On Tuesday, they both have an off day, so they can fly to their next series.
Their next series is another two game series, this time with the Diamondbacks visiting the Rangers.
Almost as if each set of parents (owners) are having a sleepover each for their kids (players).

The Marlins have played 35 games (for those saying the season has just begun, that's almost 1/4 of the season).
And of those 35 games, they have scored two or less runs in 22 of them.

They have 19 home runs for the year. 19.
Don't laugh Royals, you only have 19 too.
I remember a time when the Royals leading home run hitter was Yuni Betancourt.
Oh, he still would lead them.....

American League clubs dominate homer statistics.
Of the top 10 home run hitting teams, seven are in the American League.
The leading National League hitting clubs are the Atlanta Braves, the Colorado Rockies and the...
Wait for it....
Wait for it...
THE CHICAGO CUBS!

The Marlins may only be hitting 19 homers but look at that batting average!
Oh. Never mind.
Last in baseball, .225........

Quit laughing White Sox, you're only hitting .227
But then again, you do have a Dunndicap....

The other worst team in baseball, the Astros have the worst E.R.A. BY FAR...
5.62
Almost a full point higher than the Toronto Blue Jays, 4.88 E.R.A. which is the closest to the Astros in being terrible...

Still, there is a worse E.R.A.
The NFBC has one team in the Main Event with an 6.15 E.R.A.
But, it comes from a team with a great team name...
'Unfortunately, Our Roids Srart with a HEM'

Bob Mazur's 'Spartacus' team has the best E.R.A. of all Main Event teams with a 2.34....
Yes, 2.34
Bob is praying for no injuries.
He has Leake and Doubront as his benched Starters..... :)

Think your batting average is bad?
It may not be. Usually this time of year, there are still several teams over the .300 mark.
Not one.
In fact, there are only four NFBC teams that have averages in the .290's

One Main Event team is matching the White Sox batting average of .227

Jeff Dobies has 3,897.5 overall points
That gives him more than a 3,500 points lead over the last place team....

Shawn Childs and Chris Schinker's 'SportsDraftDaily' team have a decided edge in homers.
They have 81 and only four teams are within 10 of them.
But, their team must have Uptonitis as they are 'only' ninth overall in rbi, 28 rbi behind the leaders.

I went through the scientific process of finding the most average batting average among NFBC teams by finding the 217th and 218th ranked teams in batting average.
Their batting average is .2616
Now do you feel better about your batting average?

433 of 435 NFBC teams have at least 200 K's

One team has 34 Saves...
Two, do not have any....

One NFBC team failed to steal a base for the entire week, last week.

'Queen Team' had an amazing 96 K's last week.
Impressive.

And a question for readers....
I hope to do these NFBC updates once a week.
In your opinion, should I mention the names of the teams that are doing badly?
For instance....
'DOUGHBOYS' had a week to forget in only garnering one homer and zero stolen bases'
Or should I not call that team's name out?

Your vote counts-
I'll do whatever and whoever the votes say right here....

Call 'em out, Dan. I'm sure I'll hit the bad list in short time. I'm in Dobies and MadCow's ME league; they're stealing all the points away from the other 13 of us!

Jeff hit 143.5 tonight. For as impressed and happy for Jeff with the success his squad has shown so far, I sure feel like a dumbass that I helped contribute to him having such a great team by my bad drafting. But he obviously had a well structured plan in place. He took Harvey at 7.4 and I think I turned a sheet of white in amazement. Good man, good player. Hope he turns the trick.
